Slimming patches

The adverts always show them in a medical setting or with Boots chemist in the background. Often they wear nurses uniforms as well. I see them a lot but they are a scam . If the massive people they show really list the amount of weight they claim to have they would have mountains of loose skin.

The weight loss patches are a scam. I’ve seen them. They are little plastic squares with adhesive around the edges which have a layer of plastic that gets peeled off before use, and little ‘bristles’ in the centre. It is those ‘bristles’ that come into contact with the skin as you stick the patch onto your tummy or wherever, and, supposedly activate your metabolism into losing weight. If this were true, then surely those little ‘bristles’ would have a protective covering that needed to be peeled off too? Someone, somewhere in China is raking in a small fortune. ‘Endorsed by the NHS’ my eye!

I am bombarded with weight loss plans, promotions of "missing" vitamins that I need to reduce my fatty liver, improved my digestive function, clear my pot belly. Apparently if I cannot lose weight, it is not my fault; I am low min magnesium, GLP-1, estrogen etc

This is not about the 'slimming patches' but about PayPal. Please do not believe that PayPal will indemnify you for any loss of money through fraud. Recently we almost lost £8K through a clever scam through PayPal, and had to go through the Ombudsman to get it back.

Jonah

Has anyone tried the slimming patches available on the market? If so, any genuine reviews?

Don’t waste your money on these things. The slimming world group I go to have been discussing these . They all promise the earth and don’t deliver anything

East less…..move more……and if you must waste money on gimmicky patches……stick them over your mouth!

They are a scam. I suspect Boots is very unhappy about being used in the adverts.

I tried the patches for three months, it is an absolute scam. Such a waste of money. Just have to eat less to lose weight!

I’m waiting for a sweater to arrive from a company that I thought was in Kensington! It kept changing names?
Well of course it’s in China?
These companies should be banned if not showing exactly where they’re from!
I keep emailing them and the tracking is not updated ! But have been promised it is out for delivery! They suddenly turn up if you say you’ll do a charge back!

Scam. There are so many fraudulent adverts, especially on Facebook, TitTok, and on various game sites. Very often the reviews are false. Almost always the items come (if they arrive at all) from China and are poor quality. Never put your account or card details into these site. If you cannot resist, use PayPal.
Not trying to be superior. I got caught out by ordering what looked like a lovely suede jacket from a company called Olivia Rose, pretending to be based in London. Weeks later, still waiting for the jacket and have been getting completely false tracking updates. I thought I was pretty alert to scams but here I am a lot of money out of pocket. I paid by PayPal so might get a refund but at least the company don’t have my card details.

If true surely the NHS would have picked it up and saved money!

It’s a scam. Beware.

They might work in terms of losing weight, though I suspect not. But any tablet, patch or injection that implies all surplus skin magically vanishes must be untrue.

I think it’s likely they are all ineffective

Co-incidentally, after being bombarded on Facebook by an advert for slimming patches, apparently sold at Boots (Surgonix) I felt a bit suspicious so looked them up on Boots online, where surprise/surprise, they don't exist...so, be careful.
