Cough-variant asthma

I was diagnosed with cough-variant asthma a few days ago almost 12 months after being referred to the respiratory dept at my local hospital for various tests. I have been prescribed a 3-month trial of Montelukast. Does anyone else have this condition and/or take this medication? What other steps do you take to feel better? I'm 68 and in very good health otherwise.

Yes - I take Montelukast Tablets - one every night. I have Asthma and Bronchiectasis.
My condition is well controlled, with only just an occasional tightness of the chest.
I have not heard of cough variant asthma.
I have had asthma since childhood, and I am quite a few years older than you .

Montelukast comes in the form of tablets. I had to stop taking them recently due to disturbing dreams. They're usually taken at night. I now have an inhaler. Seems to be working so far.
