I don't know what to do. Anybody had experience of excision of labial cysts.

I saw a gynae locum consultant who has referred me to day surgery for labial cysts. I have had them for several years but this year had a lot of discomfort which has now settled down ( I will spare you the gory details).
I was confused by what she said. It was sort of we can reduce or remove theseif you want, it involves an excision and you can have a general or local anaesthetic . I started waffling about being older and avoiding surgery. She said the cysts wont get smaller of their own accord( and obviously could be sore etc. again later). At first she said she would refer me to dermatology for it, then within the gynae dept. She said the doctor who would do it was really lovely and I could talk to her before deciding what to do. I later received an appointement with day surgery.
So, has anyone experienced this condition or had this what she called excision. I am worried about arriving and being prepped for the treatment without the chance to ask about it and also how painful it will be and how long to get over it. Thanks for anyone who knows anything about this.
