4-6 weeks wait for a routine gp appoinment.

That’s what I was told when I rang to chase an online request for an appointment. I’ve no idea what a “routine” appoitment might be. I’d have thought the doctor wouldn’t know if it was routine until he/she saw you. In any case, a ridiculous amount of time to have to wait.

Absolutely. Ditto for a visit to the nurse or “nurse practitioner” - dodgy depending on the person!
I haven’t needed an urgent appointment. If that is the new normal no wonder the A&E waits are up to 15 hrs. and are so vercrowded!

They deem it routine grandMattie depending on what you said your.symptoms are, your pain level , whether it's an ongoing problem or new more urgent symptoms..
Can be frustrating though. You can always contact again if it worsened.
