How long is the wait for a hernia repair nowadays (male)?

And any idea on how much it costs to have it done privately please?

Had a quick look on our local private hospital’s website and a simple hernia repair is around £3200. Hope you get something sorted out soon.

My son-in-law has a hernia, he was told that they are not dealt with now as there are risks associated with the surgery and are likely to come back.

That is the type he has and the health authority he lives in that this applies to, it may be different for you.

My husband had a double hernia repair in 2019. From seeing the consultant to the day he had the op was three weeks. He was told it would be no longer than 5 weeks.
It was day surgery and he came home in the evening. All done on the NHS.
