I spotted a butterfly out and about a few weeks ago, and thought January was a bit early for one to be around. Then I saw the local Environmental Records Centre website and thought people might be interested - it's a site where you add sightings of wildlife so they can build up a map of local flora and fauna. It's mostly done by volunteers
So, for example you can look at a map here of Bristol Bioblitz 2014 and get an idea of the wildlife diversity. Apparently, Avon Wildlife Trust have used it to make their Wild City Maps.
Worth exploring, I thought.
