We're not voting this time.

In general elections it's hardly worth voting here because the sitting tory always gets in. I have never had anything but a Tory MP and neither did my parents! I do vote obviously because I believe everyone should.

If I was voting I would be voting to out a LibDem if possible.

Yes I shall be making an early visit to cast my vote.. I wouldn't waste a hard won right. I do understand why people don't bother though.

I have already sent my postal vote. I believe we should all vote it was a hard won right.

There's no election here this year, thank goodness, but if there was I would have a postal vote and vote Lib Dem out of loyalty rather than approval of the coalition which I have always been sceptical about.

I have already sent off my postal vote and have been working hard for months towards election day on Thursday. The count is on Friday morning -if we win I will no doubt be elated and ready to party - if we lose I think I will hibernate for a few months. On second thoughts I can't as I am the Treasurer of the local committee and will be responsible for the last of the bills and the financial returns.

Very close fought contest here between SNP and Labour.

No as we are away for a few days and also there is no real contest as to who will get in

I can't, but if I could, I wouldn't! At least, not unless there was a candidate other than those from the three main parties - Green, perhaps? Or Monster Raving Loony - some of their policies have now been implemented.
I no longer have any loyalty to the Labour party - Blair changed it out of all recognition and now I cannot see any difference between it and the Conservative party.
I might vote for an individual who had shown real commitment to the job and his/her constituents, regardless of their party allegiance.

No elections here this year but dh keeps fretting about it. He says we have'nt recieved our polling cards yet - yes thats because were not voting, then, we have had no potitical canvassers yet, no because were not voting. Grrrr. I think I will send him out to vote anyway.

On a more serious note I vote for the candidate who I think will serve our local community best in the local elections, regardless of party.

We are not voting in our area. If we were I would not be changing my opinion. I am sorry to say all of the political parties have their bad faults, not a fag paper between them. I am sick and tired though of the class warfare which cuts no mustard with me. I also find the politics of trying to discredit very annoying, it does nobody any good and points to a lack of imagination and nothing to offer the voter, just schoolboy tactics.

Yes, I've sent in my postal vote. We are also deciding whether to have a council leader or elected mayor this time in Manchester. Given that the current leader of the council costs a fortune and was voluntarily suspended whilst his admitted assault on his step-daughter was investigated, I am not confident about either choice!

You bet! We've fought hard for the vote and it's my opportunity to add my little bit. Whether my vote will make a difference is another matter, but if I don't try it definitely won't.

We've only had 1 person round and it's not one of the big 3. Mind you the labour candidate had a stall in our marketplace so there ample change to air views. Conservatives sent through a vapid leaflet and we've had nothing from the LibDems.

I'm voting for the person who will do their best for our town and not for the party. I've given up on parties for the time being. I'm sick to death with the lot of 'em

Good for you Goldengirl. Local elections should be about the candidate who does the best for their community. I so agree everyone should vote, if we could'nt we would be fighting for the right to.We all say other countries who do not allow their people the right to vote are scumbags and then can't be bothered to vote at home, very strange really but that's democracy I guess.

Making a protest vote against the main 3 parties who I believe are all one and the same with the same stupid selfish policies that let the rich get richer and ensure the poor stay BLOODY WELL POOR.
