One of the videos on the Beeb was taken at West Oxfordshire Sailing Club. I recognised the car park. We used to sail there.

Yes, shysal, that's the one. My son did it a few years ago in the pouring rain but has since had some knee problems, so he will be spectating this time, and controlling my two GSs.

Annobel I took part in that race a few years ago ( I assume it is the Town and Gown). It was my cousin, who had a son with muscular dystrophy, who organised the first one 31 years ago. Unfortunately an injury put paid to my jogging, so have to keep fit by walking these days.

Haven't heard if the family saw anything of it - think they are a bit further south. I'm going there at the weekend to watch my DiL doing 10K run in Oxford. So I do hope there's no repetition of this kind of weather!

Could it have been Glamma on her way to some place astride her turbo-charged broomstick? grin
To witness something so awesome, carving it's way across sea and land, would scare the pants off me! Nature in the raw...demands our respect.

I would have liked to have seen it - from a distance!
