our failing care system

Having been a nurse for the past 27 years the majority of which being spent in caring for the elderly, particularly those suffering with dementia, I have witnessed all too often abuse and neglect of our vulnerable elderly folk. As a consequence I have initiated an e petition to lobby parliament to address the issues in our failing care system. The link to my petition is:

I would be very grateful if everyone could sign it and promote it please as I need 100,000 signatures by 30th April 2013 in order for it to be effective. I thank you in anticipation of your support.

Thank you, i would be very grateful if you could encourage friends, family and colleagues to sign it too. I have emailed Age UK and Bradford University the leading experts in dementia research to try and engage their support.

A programme regarding the case of neglect which spawned my petition and facebook page is due to be screened on ITV at 10.30pm on Wednesday 24th October as part of the Exposure documentary series. It highlights the many failings in the care system and addresses the urgent need for reform, it will also be promoting my petition which hopefully will generate more votes and support for my campaign.
