Somebody left a large pile of cannabis leaves in our village car park a few years ago. I phoned the police to tell them but they weren't interested. I knew they were cannabis leaves cause there was a guy in the car park who was a fisherman and he recognised what it was from what [accidentally] grew from the hemp seed that he used for fishing wink.

I complained about litter piling up at the park entrance near my house, and that my green garden waste bin had had junk food cartons and bottles dropped in it when I put it out for the collection - the bin men refused it because it contained more than garden waste. I asked if waste bins could be placed by the park entrance to solve the problem.

Result? Came home this afternoon to find the bin men had swiped my green bin and left me without! Neighbours saw it being loaded on to a refuse van.

It's like being in One Foot in the Grave........!

Plain stupid when they could be better employed waiting 500 yards from any drive through McDonalds.

A local lady was threatened with prosecution because she had left some bags of clothes next to the collection bank which was full. The bags had been sealed and were not causing a mess. A jobsworth opened them and found something which identified her.

The threat hung over her for weeks and was only relieved when the local media got involved and public opinion put pressure on the local council.

Simply stupid.

The Street Cleaner where I used to work in town called his pigeons 'Andy's Little Helpers'. He told me that they not only ate all edible rubbish but also took away the cigarette ends which they used to line their nests!

The law these days seems to give these jobs worths the power they crave but can't get any other way. Commonsense has gone right out of the window

RUBBISH!

Yep, totally nutty.

I hate these jobsworth types that can't apply a bit of sense. There's nothing wrong with throwing half an apple into a hedge in those circumstances. In our gardens, we would go out of our way to put food for birds, small wild animals and insects in accessible places. What nonsense!

What a waste of time and money.

The world's going crazy shock

There was that case where a child dropped a crisp on the pavement and his mother was given a fine for littering! The birds would have seen that off in a second....angry

Absolutely crazy. I am physically unable to drop litter but I wouldn't consider for a moment that an apple core is litter when it's thrown into a hedge like that. A slightly different matter if it were dropped on a pavement though.

Well, it's fruit actually. It shouldn't be annoying when people are pig ignorant and applying the letter of the law instead of the spirit, but it is.

HE WAS FEEDING THE BIRDS! Apple cores in hedges are not litter.

What a waste of tax-payers' money!
