Yes, GB is a good and decent man with strong political convictions - and no, being PM was not for him. I really hope his involvement in this will bring about increased recognition and support for the education of young women worldwide.

GB is a decent man and always was (but no, I didn't like him as PM). I'm glad he's doing this.

I remember reading a book about a mountaineer who set up lots of schools for girls in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
I think the Taliban have closed down a lot of them since.

I would rather follow Gordon Brown as Envoy for Education than Tony Blair as Peace Envoy.

Saturday has been declared a global day of action in Malala's name aimed at getting school places for 32 millions girls around the world who are not attending classes.

The UN Special Envoy for Education Gordon Brown is in Islamabad ahead of the day to discuss ways of getting Pakistani girls currently out of school into the education system.

Here's hoping the Nobel Peace Prize will be winging it's way to Malala
