Done - but we have to remember that it is our wish, the customers, to buy cheap clothes from Walmart, Primark, Matalan and others. Signing a petition is great - but we have to re-think how we shop too. Primark's t-shirts for instance I meant to be worn no more than 3 or 4 times (:

If you buy 2 large chickens for a fiver from Tesco, you have to wonder about husbandry. If you buy a t-shirt for 3.50 or less - then you have to wonder about the worker's conditions too.

That was not again the petition, but again another awful fire in a Bangladeshi factory where the workers are locked in.

Dead women in a clothes factory aogain.

I don't know about other Gransnetters but when someone puts up a link to a petition that I then choose to sign, I don't usually bother to tell them that I have signed. Sorry.

Maybe I made a mistake in posting it in Politics, as some of you may avoid that topic. Over a hundred people, mainly women, died in a factory fire in Bangladesh because exit doors was locked and safety procedures had been ignored. The factory provided very cheap clothing for Walmart who were supposed to make sure it was a safe environment.
I can't believe Gransnetters don't care about the abuse suffered by so many workers, mainly but not only women and children, in order to provide the West with cheap shoes and clothes.
