I know I will get flamed for this but I can't help feeling sorry for Kate. Hardly a happy start to her pregnancy. And that's probably the hospital where the baby will be delivered.

The woman must have had some kind of emotional problem. No one kills themselves for that.

johanna Fri 07-Dec-12 18:52:03

OMG poor poor woman.

Agree with you granny23. But how can the media madness be turned around?
This is Diana's legacy is it not? It all started with her and it is going to take a long time for the media to stop this hysterical reporting.
Have to feel very sorry for Prince William.

NfkDumpling Fri 07-Dec-12 18:39:32

No reaction yet from Sydney and apparently it's still on the station's website. That's appallingly bad.

baubles Fri 07-Dec-12 18:39:04

I'm deeply shocked by this dreadful news. That poor woman. It must have been done in a moment of madness.

feetlebaum Fri 07-Dec-12 18:33:33

Surely there must be more to this than we have been told? I'm not a fan of the practical joke - in fact I think they are deadly dull - but it doesn't seem normal to top yourself as a reaction.

Perhaps we should 'watch this space'...

Faye Fri 07-Dec-12 18:30:28

How very sad for her two children just before Christmas. I also heard she was the person who only put the call through, not the nurse that gave out information. Probably a good time to remember to be kinder to others, you never know how vulnerable someone is feeling. sad

soop Fri 07-Dec-12 18:18:32

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. Poor lady. Such a tragic waste of her life. How awful for her family. I wonder if the two prangsters feel ashamed. There is truth in what Granny23 says.

gracesmum Fri 07-Dec-12 18:16:52

What can possibly be so bad that a person takes her own life and deprives her children of their mother? Poor poor girl, she must have been desperate - it wasn't really such a big deal after all was it? We all laughed at the silliness of it and I am shocked that the pressure drove her to this extreme.

london Fri 07-Dec-12 18:14:10

ana thats what i heard .she put the call through but didnt give information out so sad x

merlotgran Fri 07-Dec-12 17:51:26

Being the laughing stock of the country must have been too much to bear. I'm guilty....I laughed. sad

Ana Fri 07-Dec-12 17:40:16

Apparently it is not the nurse who gave out the information who has commited suicide, but the nurse who put the call through to the ward. She was a mother of two - what on earth made her do such a drastic thing?

Butty Fri 07-Dec-12 17:35:19

I feel desperately, weepingly sad that this young nurse took her life. I'm also angry she was put in such a position. Appalling. Dear girl.

Anne58 Fri 07-Dec-12 17:31:01

I wonder if the Australian DJ's are laughing now? I hope that they have the decency to apologise (not that that would make any difference) or at least make some sort of public statement.

vampirequeen Fri 07-Dec-12 16:59:18

OMG how awful.

crimson Fri 07-Dec-12 16:58:21

Have just got home and heard this. I feel so sorry for her. Terrible.

whenim64 Fri 07-Dec-12 16:45:42

What a tragedy. I feel so very sorry for that nurse and her family.

Ana Fri 07-Dec-12 16:42:33

And I posted on the Pregnancy thread!

Marelli Fri 07-Dec-12 16:41:17

With you there, Granny 23. (I think there are 2 threads for this, actually). confused

Granny23 Fri 07-Dec-12 16:39:30

This is the most terrible news. I blame the press/media and their incessant interest in all things Royal.

Bags Fri 07-Dec-12 16:32:21

Awful news! I can only begin to imagine how ashamed she must have felt. Poor, poor girl.

Movedalot Fri 07-Dec-12 16:20:33

No she wasn't disciplined or put under any pressure according to the 4 pm news. Poor thing

Riverwalk Fri 07-Dec-12 15:58:44

Well it's not funny any more, is it.

Poor girl must have been under so much pressure - I hope the employers were being supportive and she wasn't subject to disciplinary procedures.

Gally Fri 07-Dec-12 15:46:38

Just read that on BBC web page. It is so,so sad and so unnecessary. She must have felt dreadful, but to commit suicide?

Quiltinggran Fri 07-Dec-12 15:37:59

That's dreadful and so sad. Do these people think of the consequences of their actions?

Barrow Fri 07-Dec-12 15:34:53

Just heard the nurse who was tricked into giving out information to two Australian DJs has, apparently, commited suicide.

Very sad
