And there's an 'r' in the month, so they can't be nesting!

Just sheer attitude. hmm

Wonder if it's mate got hit by a post van ? they do tend to walk out in front of our car on country roads.

Pheasant shooting season near here. That one reminds me of one of our feistier cockerels. He went in the pot.

It is fashionable to cook cockerels at the moment.

We're having our first cockerel of the year on Sunday. Nice to be in fashion but I won't be saying that when I'm plucking and cleaning it. grin

It has always been fashionable for chicken keepers. Where do you think cock-a-leekie soup comes from?

Anyone is welcome to the cockerel who lives at the back of my house. Hasn't actually bothered me but my neighbours are having to move into a different bedroom as it's waking them up at 4 in the morning.

I don't mean boiling an old has-been cockerel up in a saucepan Bags! I mean proper cooking. like this

Apparently they are cockerels up to a year. After that they are roosters. [shrug]

Yum - that does look very tempting jingle.

Pheasants are so stupid. I have not seen any creature with the sort of death wish they have. I had so many near misses with them when I was driving to work. At this time of year their brains are in their balls!

You don't think of birds as having those do you? (wanders off wondering)
