I know what you mean though Nelliemoser. But there wasn't all the savagery surrounding them. (I know that came very shortly afterwards)

It's the children sleeping in makeshift shelters, in the snow, that I worry about.

Don't understand why they can't do something without the consent of sodding Russia and China.

To be sheltering in a cave whilst fleeing from one's home having lost several members of one's family due to bitter conflict...and giving birth without the usual fuss that we are well accoustomed to...well, I find that beyond sad.

I am not setting out to demean the concerns in this thread but being born in a cave in the middle east sounds familiar somehow.

Jings Babies are being born in caves. It's beyond heartbreaking. What on earth can we do that would make a difference? I wish that I had the answer.
