Poundland said it was nothing to do with them!.

The auction house in Ameriaca has withdrawn it haven't they?. Presumably their stance last week that it was a legitamate owner could be untrue. It will be interesting how this ends.

The bare-faced cheek of it!

I suppose the problem is that the wall belongs to the owner of the building and therefore so does the painting. Not that I agree with this!

Looked at lots of Banksy's art online - some very good comments!

Agree j08 as it feels like theft..but you never know maybe banksy has reclaimed it..i gather the sale did not happen.

j08 Mon 25-Feb-13 15:43:48

Maybe not. Good thing this sale hasn't gone through! There'd be none left.

Would that stop a determined thief (or more likely, gang), though? confused

I can see that Nanaej. It was on the wall of a Poundland. And it depicted child slave labour.

Don't like the idea of big corporation types making money out of it though.

Think the council should have covered it with perspex like they do in London. (the really good ones)

They cut a slab of the wall out soop!

nanaej Mon 25-Feb-13 15:29:32

he says it is not his once it has been removed as it is not in the context he put it in. i like banksy..one of my favourites www.guardian.co.uk/arts/gallery/2007/dec/03/1?picture=331433754#/?picture=331433769&index=4
