Before the accusations start I'm not jealous.
Will and Kate are getting a house on the Sandringham estate 'for their growing family'. How many babies is she having? This particular house has 10 bedrooms.
It's not the house itself that bothers me but the way planning rules have been pushed to one side in order to accommodate the changes they'd like. Apparently Council officers 'approved the plans under delegated powers, which means they did not have to go through the usual council planning process.' This means that not only did the get permission to make changes to the house but also have permission to run a new drive over a green field site and a ' new gate will be built across what is currently a public road'. The access to the church is to be changed as well so that the couple can have a private entrance and a new car park is to be built. As this is in the middle of the country the car park must be going on a green field site.
I don't care who's picking up the bill for this although as the report states the Queen is paying for the car park I suspect that we're paying for the rest. My problem arises with the way they have been able to sideline planning permissions which are there to protect the countryside.
As for the current tenant. I hope he digs his heels in and refuses to leave early. He has a right to enjoy the property until his lease expires. It's not right to assume he will leave early even if they offer him compensation.
