"Former Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher has died at 87 following a stroke" - just saw on the BBC.

shock Who tells you you are not very intelligent, bluebell?!

j08 Fri 12-Apr-13 17:30:44

The Saga forum closed down because the posters got quite cross with each other.

Bags - utterly amazing, went off to have some refection (never having herad the word before) and to finish crossword ( Guardian cryptic as it happens) and unbelievalby, refection was one of the answers!!)

Nonu Fri 12-Apr-13 16:39:30

All water under the bridge , one mans meat etc .

Am off to the shops , little retail therapy , DD before she departed with DG"S told me they have a sale on ,with VERY good discounts .

I doubt if it was intended as an insult, gn. It seemed like a straightforward wondering to me. She could have included Oldie Borum as well. Perhaps that's what she meant.

I suspect jingle/J08 was not paying you a compliment, Bluebell. Mumsnet is known for the foreceful language used, and Saga is a business which caters for people over 50 - I am not sure why that should be an insult!

Bags Fri 12-Apr-13 16:32:28

She's always saying she doesn't understand what I say so I'm grabbing the chance to be a cheeky blighter back smile

Bags Fri 12-Apr-13 16:31:04

I think she meant this Saga.co.uk. But dinnae fash yersel' about not understanding what jings says. wink

bluebell Fri 12-Apr-13 16:25:15

Sorry Bags - I'm told I'm not very intelligent but I still don't get how that links with what J08 said confused

j08 Fri 12-Apr-13 16:22:56

Yes. And they were fierce.

Bags Fri 12-Apr-13 16:17:20

Oh yes! Thanks for reminding me, tegan! I did too smile

Tegan Fri 12-Apr-13 16:16:31

Noggin the Nog! In days of old...etc etc I used to love Noggin the Nog...

Bags Fri 12-Apr-13 16:13:50

Well, you know the Vikings? Norsemen? Well.... they wrote these stories about their travels. They were called sagas.

bluebell Fri 12-Apr-13 16:11:51

j08 - what is Saga?

Bags Fri 12-Apr-13 16:10:59

BTW, did ticktock ever come back on this thread? #cantbebotheredtolook

Greatnan Fri 12-Apr-13 16:08:05

What does that mean, jingle?

j08 Fri 12-Apr-13 16:05:57

Ah! I wondered which you came from bluebell. . Mumsnet or Saga. Do you know, my money would have gone on Saga!

Bags Fri 12-Apr-13 16:05:18

I thought so, but I had to check because I didn't "know". Refection is something you eat in a refectory (or sitting room in my case). I'm having some of that. Coffee and flapjack. Dead good. Reflection may follow.

Greatnan Fri 12-Apr-13 16:02:38

I find it incredible that Nonu could have reached adulthood without knowing what every child in the playground knows. FO means Fuck Off, a good old Anglo-Saxon way of telling somebody what you think of them. Now all you delicate flowers can pretend to faint, holding your scented hankies to your nose.grin

bluebell Fri 12-Apr-13 16:02:25

or reflection even

Bags Fri 12-Apr-13 16:00:53

Check your pms, bluebell. I'm having some of that stuff beginning with 'r' too smile

In short, it means what the hell you want it to mean.

Bags Fri 12-Apr-13 15:54:51

FO means "Fizzle Out why don't you? I'm getting irritated." but only the first two words are, ahem, spelled out. wink

Oh wait! I think it might mean "Fall off your high horse, perleese!"

grin
