He is such a horrible little obnoxious man and he makes me feel so uneasy. I loved the way Shirley patted him on the back - I thought he was going to turn round and hit her, but he just turned away and sulked. hmm.

Shirley is my idol - and the best prime minister we never had - I would have had her in charge any day instead of Mrs T. Such a shame it is now too late for her - but she does a splendid job in the Lords.

I was really looking forward to this especially Shirley Williams and 3 other women! Got comfy in bed with my bedtime drink, and fell asleep half way through the program!!

Should be 'panel members' blush

David Starkey does make some good points, but spoils it because he loves the sound of his own voice, as do so many of the panels.
He is just too patronising and pompous.

I don't usually watch QT, because I find the panellists' responses entirely predictable, but I do wish I'd watched that one. Shirley Williams is a great role model. Couldn't we have a web chat with her, Geraldine?

It was funny to see Shirley Willams patting David Starkey on the back during one of his rants, with a patronising 'there there, dear' and Victoria Coren dismssing him as a silly old uncle. Doesn't happen often, but amusing to see the tables turned on occasion. grin

I suppose the composition of the panel reflects the gender imbalance in parliament.

Hope Radio 4 follows suit - usually Any Questions is 3 men one woman. I notice Gardeners' Question time has a more equal gender balance these days at least.

It must have been a record tonight - 4 women and only 1 man on the panel! I've become increasingly fed up with Question Time the generally male politicians spouting the usual party line. I thought it was much more lively tonight and, despite disagreements, the women didn't spend the whole time sniping at each other.

David Starkey does very occasionally make some good points but I think he spoils it all by being overbearing and obnoxious.
