Do you think her tweet was defamatory? I think it is the kind of phrasing we would have got away with on Gransnet. grin

Lily I admit to having a soft spot for Christine Hamilton. Talk about 'Stand by Your Man' and 'Lady in Red'. Didn't Neil bankrupt himself and she had to come with with schemes to save the family home?

Eloethan Wed 29-May-13 12:49:32

I love that saying Aka.

Lilygran Wed 29-May-13 09:13:25

I don't think it's accurate or fair to compare Christine Hamilton to Sally Bercow. All the stunts CH has pulled seem to have been in support of her husband while SB has exploited her husband's position as Speaker to get herself into the spotlight, often to his detriment.

Sally Bercow wants to learn to keep her mouth shut, until she can come out with something proper!

Nonu Wed 29-May-13 02:46:19

Sorry, I think she is a twat , too full of herself .

jO8, Sally Bercow is, to all intents and purposes, a public figure. She is a women who actively courts the attention of the general public. She should be very carefull of what she 'publishes' (sticking stuff on Twitter is publishing). An offhand commment by someone on gransnet is not quite in that league and is much more likely to be seen as a silly 'off the cuff' comment of now great moment.

Hard-faced - superficial glamour! Reminiscent of Christine Hamilton. hmm

Ana Tue 28-May-13 19:59:39

Good looking? Do you really think so, Jess? I can't see it myself, neither can DH, but I suppose beauty really is in the eye of the beholder...

ps Tue 28-May-13 19:45:23

Ana I tend to agree with you there JessM perhaps, but good looks are a personal thing and one cannot spend a lifetime attempting to communicate with a good looking scaffold plank; but point taken, not my cup of tea but I understand that your point may be the case.

JessM Tue 28-May-13 19:17:35

hmm suspect husband thinks he is lucky chap to have such a good looking wife grin

Ana Tue 28-May-13 19:15:02

Well, he comes across as a pompous prat himself, so they're welcome to each other!

ps Tue 28-May-13 19:10:28

I actually feel sorry for her husband, he must cringe every time she opens her mouth to change feet. Such an embarrassment.

NannaB Tue 28-May-13 18:33:35

[j08] she will always be Sallt to me now! smile

Ana Tue 28-May-13 18:01:51

So they go to Sainsbury's (or Court) dressed up to the nines....

FlicketyB Tue 28-May-13 17:48:12

Because they always dress down for parties.

Bags Sun 26-May-13 11:09:46

grin That'll be it.

Sad.

Lilygran Sun 26-May-13 10:57:55

Because they're worth it!

Bags Sun 26-May-13 10:50:00

PS the dress suits her and she looks 'nice'. It just puzzles me why so many women dress as if for parties so much nowadays even for ordinary everyday stuff.

Bags Sun 26-May-13 10:47:35

Comment from the Daily Mash

My question: is she on her way to court in the picture? And if so, why is she dressed in an evening party dress? It also seems odd when the two visible men behind her are standard "suits" (so many are – boringtastic), and the woman to her right is muffled up in a warm scarf.

Slebs are so weird.

ps Sat 25-May-13 20:54:46

This woman is a liability and really does need to grow up. Her actions prove the point that you are never too old to learn or do something stupid.

This was our reaction exactly when we heard the news:

Personally I'm glad that SB got hammered because she knew exactly what she was doing when she tweeted. However, the tweet, if posted by someone else, could have been viewed far more innocently. When will people learn the lesson not to repeat malicious gossip without checking their facts?

FlicketyB Fri 24-May-13 20:25:23

Sometimes think her name ought to be Silly (crossword clue) Bovine 3 letters. Oh dear is that libellous?

Ana Fri 24-May-13 18:32:19

Yes, I think it was the silly and childish "innocent face" that did it. Otherwise it just could have been a genuine question.
