To some degree I agree with you, but you must bear in mind that the questions asked of the panel are decided by the Producer of the programme taken from a list of questions offered by members of the audience. The choice of question is strongly influenced by the BBC's strong socialist leanings and that their organisation has very little practical experince to any form of governance. Furthermore the politians on the panel only give bland inoffensive replies for fear of losing votes both for their party and themselves and being vilified in the media so very few panelists speak out offering a positive response, be it right or wrong. The whole point of debate is to hear all points of view and arrive at a consensus is lost in the scramble to score party points and not to offend the voters.
