I hope she never goes back. He must be so horrible - and there's never any excuse for behaviour like that. If he behaves like that in public, what on earth does he do when in the privacy of home? angry

Just heard Saatchi's explanation..............................utter rubbish! If she was crying because "they both hate arguing" then why has she left the family home with a suitcase?

Her children are nineteen and seventeen. How awful for them to see their mother all over the front pages in such a way. They must surely feel very protective. I can't imagine my son not wanting to throttle him back.

I really loved John Diamond's writing GN and thought he was very brave to write about his cancer in an era when it was still, mostly, not mentioned. His writing was so eloquent and he did seem to love his family so much. sad

She doesn't need his money - apparently she has made many millions by her own efforts in writing and presenting.
Her first husband, John Diamond, was very different.

He's obviously a boor, despite his (dubious) reputation as a collector.

Looked at the pictures and it's horrendous. I could never understand why beautiful and intelligent women could/would put up with such behaviour, either physical or verbal or both.

Two separate threads on the same subject, could they be merged please?

Worrying if Nigella thinks this is an acceptable way for him to behave. She admits that she goes out of her way to please people, but she may be going too far with a man like this. I don't like his put downs about her cooking either, hinting that it's only suitable for children. It sounds as if he can't bear anyone else being in the limelight. Considering his appalling taste in art you'd think he'd be glad that one of the family has a bit of style!

Poor Nigella. How humiliating for her. Apparently it was a 'playful tiff'. I wonder if Charles Saatchi would like playful kick in the goolies?
