Thinking about it how many toilets in terms of cubicles etc were in these toilets?.
I worked in a 6 storey building and all the toilets and hand basins were replaced over a few weeks and they were re tiled etc.
There was a ladies and gents on each floor.
I think the bill came to about that figure.
Before that I worked in a building where there was a ground floor toilet with about 20 urinals and about 20 cubicles and that was only the gents.
I don't know why it was built like that as I never saw more than about 6 in use at any one time.

£100K to refurbish loos? I'd love to see the specifications. Solid gold rather than gold plated, perhaps?

surely they are entitled to reward themselves for implementing so effectively the cuts to the NHS, Social Welfare, Schools and other burdens on society.

I am surprised.
Where I worked we had toilets in the delivery area and we also had water and a free coffee machine.
The delivery men had to be asked to be let in to that part of the area.
We had a vending machine for food but it had to be paid for but the price was about the same as in a shop.

I heard that £100,000 is being spent on refurbishing 2 toilets in the House of Lords for VIPs and visitors! It's obscene when so many public toilets are closing and delivery personnel are actually being refused access to toilets at many companies to which they un/load.

Seems pretty silly to me. I know there is a kind of rule about portraits of Prime Ministers at Number 10, but such an insignificant figure? I think they all have a massively inflated idea of their own importance and value.hmm

I hear that parliament are planning to spend £12,000 on a portrait of retiring MP Dawn Primorollo. At a time when they are cutting services I think this is a waste of taxpayers money. If they want this portrait why don't they raise the money between them, alternatively why a painting, why not a photograph.
