Boy With Extraordinary Talent

The boat painting is almost identical to one I've seen of Rolf Harris. I wonder how original the others are?

Galen. Are you suggesting Rolfie looks like a boat?

No! Sorry, bad grammar! I met Harris painted a practically identical painting I think. I saw a print of it in the Harris exhibition on the QE.

Ok, not identical, but very similar!

He is to be home-schooled. That won't keep him from still meeting his friends - my grandson was home-schooled for a couple of years and has had no trouble making friends and being "normal". It depends on how his parents treat his talent - if they try to hot-house him into concentrating on that to the detriment of anything else than he will suffer eventually, but if they make sure he gets time to just goof around he will be OK.

What a talent though! I think we will be hearing more of him.

His boat looks more real than the one in the foreground of Rolf's painting. That could be suspended just above the surface of the water.

His paintings are lovely.

The most important thing is that he should be happy and that all his other traits should be nurtured as well.

It's a long way from being a talented ten year old to being a successful mature artist. I wonder why people are paying so much for his paintings. Do they think he is doing something new, or are they just paying for the novelty value?
