Gordon Ramsey has installed a camera in daughter's bedroom

I agree 64 but recently having blurted out something stupid myself in company, and as I said it thinking "Did those words just come out of your mouth?" perhaps I'm feeling a bit empathetic. But he should have kept himself in check being filmed for telly.

But - having posted that, I feel even to say this on tv especially, is just not on.

I do hope you're right Grannyknot. If he has, he wouldn't be the first father to do this, which is why I took the claim as something GR had done.

Lighten up everyone! "... makes outlandish claims in jokey exchange". I'm certain he was joking. If he was serious, he wouldn't let the cat out of the bag out for the daughter - never mind the whole world - to know.

Lets hope it is a joke. Surely this is against her civil rights or something? She is entitled to her privacy and teenagers are intensely private. As someone said on this thread what's wrong with knocking on her door, and popping you head in to see what she is up to. He could be worried about what she accesses on the internet so put a parental lock on it. Creepy.

It was in the Jonathan Ross show that he made this admission. According to this report the daughter was there with her boyfriend. It all sounds a bit like a family joke to me, albeit a creepy one.

Very unpleasant indeed, totally inappropriate and says a lot about this man. Also, not very secret if he's all over the media about it. Poor girl and I do wonder what the girls mother had to say, or if she has any say at all in what goes on in their family.

Very strange if you ask me,one of the reports said his DD was having her boyfriend to the house visiting when she was doing homework and that GR had asked his DS to place the camera in the bedroom and not tell his sister,not the actions of a normal parent I would think.

That's why I think the whole thing is a wind-up!

It just goes to show he's never there. We've all made the excuses to 'check up' on what they're up to....Deliveries of snacks and drinks, a sudden urge to put clean laundry in drawers, asking what they'd like for supper etc., and they knew we were checking up as it's what caring, responsible parents and grandparents do.

Any self respecting, stroppy teenager would tell him where to shove his camera.

I think it's a terrible invasion on her privacy. It's good to pop in and see how someone's getting on but presumably you would at least knock at the door first. To be constantly monitored by a camera is horrible.

How bizarre! Why on earth doesn't he just fine her somewhere more open to do homework. Or, heaven forbid, just trust the poor girl to do what she needs to do!

Very very creepy if you ask me. The girl deserves privacy - what she does in her own room is surely her business. Get her to do her homework in a family area if he doesn't trust her. Always though him weird now that is confirmed.

If it's a hidden camera she's going to know all about it now. I can just imagine the pranks my grandaughters would get up to if they thought they were being spied on.

What a ridiculous thing to do.

Let's hope the camera is trained only on her desk. (Could he tell the difference onscreen between schoolwork and Facebook?)

Presumably he isn't in the house very much, since the restaurant business is at its peak in the evening, but I still think this is a seriously creepy act.

Let's hope that if he finds she isn't, he refrains from the language for which he is notorious! Why would anyone want to spy on their kids?

What's wrong with popping into the bedroom to check that homework is being done? Enquire what she should be doing, then check what she did?
