Galen Thu 13-Feb-14 22:49:35

Even shock

Ana Thu 13-Feb-14 22:55:23

Of course you know, jingl wink

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 13-Feb-14 22:57:04

Well, I can guess.

Galen Thu 13-Feb-14 23:05:49

The Gurniad?

Galen Thu 13-Feb-14 23:06:36

I'm the Torygraph (but mainly for the cryptic crossword)

durhamjen Thu 13-Feb-14 23:10:02

You did not answer my question, Jingle. You asked me to ask you directly, which I did. There's no need to swear because I did as you asked.
Are you watching Question Time?
Samcam's dad is given half a million pounds a year in subsidies for two windfarms in North Lincolnshire.

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 13-Feb-14 23:17:51

How do I know if I read the same things as you do??? (see previous comment)

And what the - ditto - has Samcam's dad got to do with the price of potatos?! Or fish.

moon

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 13-Feb-14 23:18:59

There could be an 'e' in potatos/oes

Galen Thu 13-Feb-14 23:22:28

Socrates comes to mind. Or was it Aristotle ?

Samcam's dad was lucky enough to be born into a rich family. He is a baronet, and was born into a family with land. Nothing to do with brains.
Cameron now discourages the idea of windfarms, knowing that his family gets money from the government for windfarms. That's nothing to do with brains either.

POGS Fri 14-Feb-14 00:05:24

What a crock of ----

Do you ever look at Labours wealthy durhamjen? There are millionaires in ALL of the parties for heaven's sake.

durhamjen Fri 14-Feb-14 00:12:26

I know that, POGS. Blair and his wife are the worst. They are probably richer than the queen, although we would not know because a lot of their money is in taxhavens. Just like Cameron's dad started doing; he probably gave Blair the idea, either him or Branson.
But Jingles said that the people at the top of government are rich because of their brains. They are usually rich because their fathers and grandfathers were rich.

thatbags Fri 14-Feb-14 06:59:22

"the rest of us"

oh dear

thatbags Fri 14-Feb-14 07:00:22

The divide and rule tactic.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 14-Feb-14 09:35:45

OR jendurham, it could be that braininess runs in families. Inherited intelligence as well as inherited wealth? You know - gene pool.

ninny Fri 14-Feb-14 10:00:28

nelliemosser Your idea to "Bang up the income tax to pay for more flood prevention" I am sure that would be a vote winner! Well it might be for the people on benefits who never pay taxes but expect everything in return.

No one is saying we shouldn't give overseas aid only that the amount should be reduced and policed. Also I think we should look after our own people first.

Absent Your remark "I wouldn't dream of signing such a disgraceful Little Englander petition" well what's it got to do with you anyway seeing as you have emigrated why don't you concentrate on your new country of residence.

Also a few gransnetters I have noticed live in France so the same applies to you, if you are so bothered about Foreign Aid why don't you get your new country of residence to send some more money.

whitewave Fri 14-Feb-14 10:38:04

Blimey this seems to be generating into real playground stuff - go for it ladies?!!!!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 14-Feb-14 10:50:32

Rubbish!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 14-Feb-14 10:51:58

Oh - yes. Perhaps.....

Time for some chores.

merlotgran Fri 14-Feb-14 11:00:09

I do hope this scrap lively debate hasn't been deleted by the time I get back from Specsavers. grin

That's a throw away remark BTW, even though I realise they've now become frowned upon.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 14-Feb-14 11:04:36

grin

Soutra Fri 14-Feb-14 12:29:58

That's more than a bit out of order ninny surely? Absent has as much right to comment as anybody!!!

Dragonfly1 Fri 14-Feb-14 13:48:41

On a slightly lighter note I think I need to go to Specsavers too. Just read ninny's response to absent ^ and wondered why the hell she would be singing a petition. Thought I'd got my threads crossed with the Singing for fun thread. Oh dear.

durhamjen Fri 14-Feb-14 14:02:17

as a matter of interest, did anyone apart from Ninny sign the petition?

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 14-Feb-14 14:06:13

I agree. Ninny's remark to absent was totally out of order. Not to mention unkind.
