Bet Tony Blair wishes he had not taken that call from Brooks. Or been so supportive. She obviously had a talent for making friends with prime ministers didn't she.

jcdoh, I thought that Cameron was supposed to be the next Maggie. Speak for yourself about backing the next one. As the saying goes, "Not in my name".

There is I thought more than a hint of irony when we hear that RB was being publicly questioned yesterday about her affair with Coulson and other aspects of her private life. When you think that the newspaper she edited exposed private details of so many individuals. Couldn't make it up could you.
(I don't think Blair is in any way implicated in the issues around the trial. Just that he was offering support to a defendant.
I only just caught up on the allegations re the ex Mrs Murdoch though. Not a good week was it, for him.)

I am content to wait for the trial outcome. If these people are found guilty I hope they get put away for a very long time. I will bide my time till then...

in agreement with most of these posts; but why isn't he being brought in for questioning? is it the `old boy ' network- laughing and saying we could do such and get rich quick --too !!

where is our next MAGGIE ???? step forward please we need and will back you .

Oops!

I'd be interested to know what she has that all those men want to save! If she gets away with this.......

Its interesting that 3/4 of the jury are women on this occasion. She has obviously had a meteoric rise in a male dominated world (and not a very nice one at that). Not a usual sort of woman that's for sure. Wonder if any of the prosecution barristers are going to ask her why she told Who's Who that she studied at the Sorbonne? (see wikipedia)

Deedaa Thu 20-Feb-14 21:54:06

I'm sure I should be impressed by Rebecca Brooks as an example of an empowered woman, but when she fiounces around with that great mass of hair I just want to give her a good slap! And the Blair connection is doing her no favours at all in my opinion.
Blair seems to be looking more unhinged than ever in recent photo's - must be the strain of trying to live in all those houses at once grin

mollie Thu 20-Feb-14 11:56:01

Well, Rebecca has been cleared of one count already... no case to answer, apparently.

Elegran Thu 20-Feb-14 11:07:44

He is an expert on How to Make £20 Million a Year so maybe that is his chosen subject.

glammanana Thu 20-Feb-14 10:46:51

What he does talk about or advises on for 20millon a year is at a loss on me what an embarrassment of a man he is,what ever comes out during this trial mr.perma tan Tony will keep that smug smile on his face.

whitewave Thu 20-Feb-14 10:08:53

Her trial starts today - shall watch that with interest - be interested to see if she has any Teflon stuck to her. Bet she has paid a fortune for her legal team.

besottedgran Thu 20-Feb-14 09:01:49

You can fool all of the people SOME of the time·· Some of the people ALL of the time····but not ALL of the people ALL of the time. Tony, you are exposed.

Very rich -- but exposed.

durhamjen Thu 20-Feb-14 00:21:56

That's the first time for ages that all the newspapers have had the same front page story.

ps Wed 19-Feb-14 22:29:24

Never trusted the man and he certainly was a master of fooling the people all of the time. I can't help feel that it was all about accumulating wealth. Champagne socialism at its worst and George Bush's best ally.

Kiora Wed 19-Feb-14 22:25:50

Just the mention of his name makes meangry for the second time on here today I say 'liar liar pants on fire' wouldn't it be justice if they both had their comeuppance. Too much to hope for though. These two are evidence that too much Power corrupts

merlotgran Wed 19-Feb-14 22:15:23

Too many people were happy to bask in the light of his halo, as absent has just said.

absent Wed 19-Feb-14 21:49:57

Just goes to show that you can fool all of the people all of the time.

sunseeker Wed 19-Feb-14 21:47:49

Blair will come out of this like he does everything - he's not called Teflon Tony for nothing. How such an obvious phony has managed to maintain the influential positions he has is a mystery!

goldengirl Wed 19-Feb-14 20:16:04

Perhaps the net will close in on him at last

Agus Wed 19-Feb-14 20:13:10

I believe in Karma and can't wait for his day to come!

kittylester Wed 19-Feb-14 19:36:30

Am I wrong to feel great glee whenever the Great Pretender is potentially embarrassed. grin

Mishap Wed 19-Feb-14 19:22:09

My heart bleeds for him!

margaretm74 Wed 19-Feb-14 19:14:14

Couldn't happen to a better person.
