Hello Insomniacs. It's been 8 weeks since I mentioned I was going to try sleepio.com for my chronic insomnia. I am making good, steady progress, and am now sleeping 4 1/2 hours on average, a great improvement on my 2-3 hours each night. The online course uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), sleep restriction (SR), a wealth of information in the library, weekly sessions with The Prof, a virtual cartoon character who asks you questions, and, based on your answers, gives you advice about treating your insomnia. There is a team of sleep experts to whom you can post questions. There is The Community, everyone who is on the course at present, or has been in the past is available, if they wish, under a user name, like Gransnet, to make comments, ask questions, offer advice, or just chat. This plays a very large part in your progress, because by sharing with others, you give and receive support, and realise that you are very much not alone.
For me, it has been excellent, and I shall keep on using the advice I have been given, hoping to keep building up my sleep levels until I feel well and happy. If you are interested, go to sleepio.com, and take a tour, fill in a sleep questionnaire, and see if you think it could help you.
