Interesting that it was the Daily Mail that ran this story about hopeless judgement of our prime minister when it comes to choosing people.
If you want to apply for a lowly unpaid committee role in public service you have to go through a complex recruitment procedure. Seems though that the really powerful posts are in the gift of senior members of the government with no checks or balances being used. This is just as embarrassing as his choice of Coulson as a close adviser. At least Coulson was not a "public appointment" and had no influence over the spending of vast sums of public money.
I know I am always sceptical about the truth of DM article but this seems to have resulted in a very rapid departure of the person involved which would not have happened if Cameron was not on the back foot.
