She`s absolutely unbelievable! The other day she was announcing that she was 6 months pregnant with baby number five, and how happy they were, she was planning to have several more babies, then today she`s saying that they`re getting divorced! Those poor kiddies of hers, they mustn`t know if they`re on the head or their elbow, or who their dads are.

Apologies for the garbled sentence.

thatbags Sat 10-May-14 07:02:35

I so can't be bothered to slag off with the Katie Prices of this world that, though I know the name, I had to google her to remind myself who the hell she is and what she has done to become such a well known name.

Oh, her. Jordan. I'd forgotten that.

Flick forgettory switch back on.

Think tubes Soutra - these can be damaged by chlamidia etc. And the term can be used as a more acceptable proxy for AI - i read an example yesterday when looking up Grant Shapps - he had chemo when he was younger apparently and had to have his family "by IVF". In other words he is infertile...
But we should not read all that is written in the popular press either.

Soutra Fri 09-May-14 22:49:12

I do wonder how someone on to her fifth baby/ pregnancy could ever have"needed" IVF?confused

nightowl Fri 09-May-14 22:04:27

Don't think I expressed myself very well there. Not sure it came across as I meant it to confused

JessM Fri 09-May-14 21:54:13

The ultimate turnyouselfintoacelebrity expert . In the Andre days I was shopping with my DIL in Brighton and we walked past them snogging extravagantly in the busiest spot they could find (that arms round his neck position which makes your mini skirt ride up - you know the one)
"Don't look" says DIL, after she has told me who we were looking at "Why?" I say "They obviously really want to be looked at" was my report. I think she should enter her life into there Turner prize next year smile

Not at all Soutra. As I said, I find myself 'slagging people off' all the time, but I don't like myself for it. DD tells me off about it regularly. She says I have an opinion on everything even when I don't care about it. I think I know what she means confused she's far more tolerant than I am about all kinds of things.

Soutra Fri 09-May-14 21:23:00

Can't a person have an opinion without being accused of (dreadful phrase) " slagging someone off" ? Or is it obligatory to express undying admiration?

Ana Fri 09-May-14 18:58:22

I did have a rather grudging admiration for Katie when she seemed to have settled down rather while she was married to Peter André. Didn't she become quite a businesswoman - something to do with horses?

I lost all respect when she took up with the cage-fighter (Alex someone?) and treated the media to the trials and tribulations of her IVF treatment, the fact that it was unsuccessful seeming to be the reason she dumped him... hmm

I agree that her children are those who will suffer most from her attention-seeking behaviour.

Lona Fri 09-May-14 18:55:06

I've seen quite a few programmes about her, and I think she is clever, astute and a loving mum too.
I don't particularly like her, but I admire her spirit.

nightowl Fri 09-May-14 18:53:59

I agree with your point about slagging off other women.... Though I find myself doing it more than I should.

nightowl Fri 09-May-14 18:52:55

I agree about Peter Andre. I hate the way he uses his children as part of his reality tv show. Not that I watch it, except when at DD's, as her partner is a bit of a Peter fan shock

petallus Fri 09-May-14 18:37:24

No, I was quite impressed with her. An interesting individual.

On the other hand, I don't like Peter Andre (although I've never met him).

These days quite a few women have several relationships/marriages and therefore have children from different fathers.

And.... I don't like slagging other women off unless I really can't help myself.

Old feminist training from the 80s I suppose (grin)

nightowl Fri 09-May-14 18:30:15

Crossed posts petallus! Not just me with a soft spot then!

nightowl Fri 09-May-14 18:29:32

I actually feel sorry for Katie Price. I think she is genuinely looking for a 'happily ever after' and convinces herself each time that she has found it. I think she has been a fantastic mother to Harvey and at least she does not thrust her children into the public eye to the extent that Peter Andre does. I really thought they were well suited but nothing seems to last in sleb world.

I think Katie was a very pretty girl who has ruined her looks and her body and I'm sure she has serious issues with her body image. Her mum always seems very normal and down to earth and I wonder what she makes of all this?

petallus Fri 09-May-14 18:28:21

A few years' ago I watched a program about Katie Price.

She came over as intelligent, strong, and loving to her children.

Also an astute business woman.

Sorry!

glammanana Fri 09-May-14 18:19:14

All the different partners and daddy's to children it surely can't be the "fathers" fault all the time in my opinion, the common dedominator here is Katie Price, I feel so sorry for the children they are getting so much older and will be well aware of her lifestyle all too soon.

Soutra Thu 08-May-14 23:30:07

It has taken me a wee while to work out who this is!("glamour " model formerly called Jordan?)
The one thing so many of these so called celebs have in common seems to be their enviable fertility. Big deal? I despair when I think of the potential for dysfunctional family life. Better to be an ordinary person with an ordinary mum and dad.

Nonu Thu 08-May-14 23:05:51

I think the post of KATY 14.13
sums up what I feel about Katie Price.

smile

Deedaa Thu 08-May-14 22:38:29

That's the point anno isn't it? She turns herself into a glorified blow up doll and is then surprised that she attracts men who can't see past the size of the boobs.
It's a shame she can't see what a good role model she could be if she devoted herself to her business interests and "writing" and stopped continually bouncing from man to man.

KatyK Thu 08-May-14 14:13:42

I can't agree that she has no brains. I think she has been extremely clever to get what she wants out of life. I would imagine she is a multi-millionairess.
She comes up with an idea for a novel, gets someone else to write it and it sells big time. She has written several autobiographies (or someone else has)as well as clothing ranges, perfumes and the rest. I used to work with a young girl who really looked up to Katie and wanted to be like her. At the time I was horrified. Looking back, I sort of 'get it'. This particular girl was very overweight, in a low paid job, struggling with life and to her Katie had 'made it'. It's not the way I see it and I find it incredibly sad, but I can kind of see where they are coming from.

janthea Thu 08-May-14 11:19:55

And the frightening thing is that some girls see her as a role model and want to be just like her - famous and rich - without having to do any work!! confused

annodomini Thu 08-May-14 10:47:54

Deeda, is it surprising that men treat her as a commodity? She has created herself as a commodity, by having those ridiculous breast enlargements and by flaunting them on Page 3.

dorsetpennt Thu 08-May-14 09:55:05

Oh my god how does she do it. This nonentity, no talent, no brains woman has us talking about her. She is so publicity hungry she will do anything to stay in the public eye. Especially as she is getting older and there are other no brain publicity hungry women coming after her. Who cares about her stupid life when there are women with real problems .

Deedaa Wed 07-May-14 21:52:21

Had caught up with the new pregnancy but not the latest divorce! She does seem to have a wonderful talent for picking men who will treat her as a commodity - and then complaining when they do. It's a pity she didn't stick with Peter Andre. He seemed to care about her and the children and tried to stop her taking herself too seriously
