Warning notices

Wish there was one of those in my local supermarket!!

In a pub while on holiday in Norfolk a notice above the bar stated 'We have a spare key to the cellar if you wish to lock your disruptive children away while you enjoy your meal in peace.'

I love both of those notices. Flowerofthewest I would add and allow others to also. There is nothing worse than going out for a meal, lunch or evening and somebody else's chidren are running amok while the parents chat.

Maybe the key should be offered to all in the pub and not just the parents.

We were in another lovely country pub in our neck of the woods the other lunchtime - a very very small put, I may add. We had just seated ourselves when three very loud and obnoxious families came in. The parents obviously were very well heeled as they spoke very very loudly about their holidays, yachts and big homes. The 8 children were worse up and down from the table. Taking each others food, shouting that they wanted this and that without a please or thank you. The parents gave whatever they requesteddemanded. At one point when the main course was finished all of the children - aged between 2 and 7 or 8 decided to go outside. Now the car park to the pub leads straight onto the main road. The 2 year old ran out to play with the others without any notice being taken by parents. When they came in 10 minutes later demanding PUDDING - no please! They dropped their wellies in the middle of the very small bar and plonked themselves at their table. ~Two of the older ones sauntered past our table and pointedly stared at our plates pulling faces. The 2 year old wandered by herself amongst the kettles and coffee machines in a small cubby hole off the bar.

I was glad to leave and have sworn that I will never go back at a weekend. The food was wonderful but the other patrons horrendous.

Flower , next County to us, it is I am led to believe known as Kensington on Sea!The coastal parts that is . THEY have "discovered"it!

Free range children we call the little s*ds.

Years ago I used to waitress on a Sunday ( to help pay London rent), the restaurant was in a expensive area and on Sundays ( Nanny's day off) all the hoorays used to bring their families in. The adults drank and yakked very loudly, the children ran wild in their Osh Kosh dungarees, we swerved around them with plates of food, pots of hot coffee etc. Those brats have now grown up into the bankers who have landed us all in the shit difficult financial situation that we find ourselves in now.
