Outsourcing

This article reflecting on the most recent report of the Public Accounts Committee show the extent to which our services are being outsourced to private companies, responsible only to their own shareholders, a number of them registered off-shore. We have the well-known example of the security debacle at the 2012 Olympics and failures in the prison system. What next?

Conservative governments are committed to 'roll back the state' policies and a competitive private sector. I learnt this in my 1985 OU foundation degree course from the late Professor Stuart Hall- can't see anything that would change that view.

I don't think many people realise much of the Ambulance Services are using private amublances, most of the non-emergency work and some of the urgent work is done by private company or charity ambulances such as Red Cross and St.Johns. It meant a lot of staff were transferred over to these private companies against their wills it was very scary and many left the service because of this. Of course the training given to the private company staff was no comparison to the training given to NHS training it was just not as good and of course the conditions of employment and pay was less too.

I'm sure I've put a link on here just recently. You need to read this regularly and do what you can to try to stop them.
Suebailey, not even Thatcher did it on this scale. There's a difference between rolling back the state and taking us back to the Victorian age. The difference there is that philanthropists started helping the poor because they knew they needed workers in their factories. Nowadays the rich take all their wealth offshore, then blame the poor for not paying taxes.
I never saw any mention of the Land Registry in the article. They were on strike for two days last week, hoping to let people know what was happening to them.

Another problem with outsourcing. Polly Toynbee says that companies like Virgincare have taken over much of the NHS. Not only have they done that, but they also do not pay their taxes. They put the money they take from the NHS into offshore accounts. If you ask about it, it is covered by commercial confidentiality.

The NHS changes in England are proceeding rapidly - putting everything out to tender. This was not even in the main body of the NHS bill.
If it carries on England will have the delightful system they have in Australia where, if you need a series of tests, you will have to run around town having different tests in different private companies. All of which will be making a profit out of taxpayers contributions.

This is interesting as far as tomorrow's elections are concerned.
If you want to stop the TTIP and the NHS outsourcing, the green party is the one to vote for.
