Thanks to all for your support and for the links. durhamjen I've passed this onto my DD smile. DGD tried very hard to remain in college but found it too exhausting and her condition got worse. Yesterday DD went to a local college to talk about getting her on a course - they were very encouraging on the phone - but was then told they couldn't help.angry

You might be interested in this link, Lucid, unless you already know about them. Action for M.E support them.

Lucid I'll sign, too. Let's hope that it makes a difference. Sadly, ME is still a bit of a Cinderella and, from what I've experienced, most lay people don't seem to know anything about it.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but here's a link to a comparison chart, which I've posted on a previous thread. It shows the differences between ME and CFS, which often get lumped together:

Me too, my nephews and a niece all had ME, it's so debilitating. Mine are now in their late 20s and only the niece is left with symptoms, so fingers crossed for your DGD.

I have signed it. What about also doing an epetition on the government website, or getting your MP to do an early day motion?
I do not know where you live but I know my MP was involved in similar work for 25 years before becoming an MP.

Can I please ask you to sign this petition: www.change.org/p/david-cameron-stop-discriminating-against-young-people
My GD is just 17 and has M.E, she can't get onto a full time course because her attendance will not be good enough and she cannot claim benefits in her own right until she is 18. My DS and DS-i-L will have their tax credits and child benefit stopped because she isn't doing at least 12 hours of education a week. I hope you'll feel able to support this campaign. Thank you.
