Is she 68? I heard 66. Not that it matters, it's horrible whatever age.

I read about it on Facebook yesterday so was able to send a message via this. Its desperately sad- she is only 68. I feel a link to her when she was the OXO lady as my friends little boy used to think that was me and I was pleased he thought me like her. She has always seemed such a warm and clever actress - loved Faith in the Future- I think she deserved more TV shows of her own.

I watched Loose Women as they said she may try to phone in. She is having chemo today and the staff wouldn't let her phone in but she sent an email which they read out. She thanked everyone for their support and said how much she appreciated it. sad Poor lady. She always seems so full of fun.

In fact I have now read it and she still has her sense of humour - what a wonderful lady! And what an absolute bugger awful thing to happen.

It is very sadsad

I read it online, I did read that she had cancer a while ago but how very sad, she and the oxo family were such a reassuring image to me at a time of a rocky marriage.

I don't think I can read it; she always seems such a lovely person and a good actress. So sad.

chloe1984 Sun 28-Sept-14 15:19:03

Read the article in today's paper so very sad.

Charleygirl Sun 28-Sept-14 14:54:23

Apparently she has colon cancer which has metastasised. She wants to stop chemotherapy in November so that she can have her last Christmas with family if possible and then possibly die in January. So very sad.

merlot yes you're right she did,she has always played mumsie type roles and she has always been around as long as I can remember such a shame her story to-day was so sad to read she is a real inspiration and will be sadly missed flowers

jingl's link works.

I think it's terribly sad. I used to tease DH about 'fancying' her in the OXO days.

Didn't she also replace Carol Drinkwater as James Herriot's wife?

JulieGransnet (GNHQ) Sun 28-Sept-14 13:14:33

Will do. Leave it to us wink

posie Sun 28-Sept-14 13:05:56

Can I leave it up to you?

JulieGransnet (GNHQ) Sun 28-Sept-14 13:03:38

It's OKsmile. What would you like it to say?

posie Sun 28-Sept-14 12:48:07

Yes please JulieGransnet, I got a bit muddled blush

JulieGransnet (GNHQ) Sun 28-Sept-14 12:25:19

Oh dear. I don't think link's work on titles sad. Would you like us to meddle with this, posie?

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 28-Sept-14 12:25:00

here it is posie

Poor woman. And poor family.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 28-Sept-14 12:20:17

Yes, I saw that yesterday. Apparently she has only weeks, and she is going to choose when the time is right. So sad.

posie Sun 28-Sept-14 11:16:50

Oh dear, my link didn't work.

posie Sun 28-Sept-14 11:15:50

I had heard that Lynda Bellingham had cancer but hadn't realised it was this bad. I've always liked her on screen. I can still remember well her oxo adverts.
She always seems so happy & energetic. What a brave lady!
