Tiger on loose in Paris

No, it was meant to be a phone pocket but I keep my phone in an inner bag. I even remembered when it must have happened. It's a shoulder bag. I tucked it carefully under my arm because I needed to reach up high for some clothing, DS had forgotten to bring his hoody with him and I saw another like it. I thought I felt a very light tug, by the time I glanced down there was no-one in sight. Heaven knows what shoes they wear.

Yikes! We`re going next Spring. I don't mind the occasional tiger or lynx but I`d hate to meet pickpockets! Hope you didn't lose much janerowena

I went into a supermarket there last year and when I came out an outer zip on my bag had been undone and the lining was hanging out. It was a good job there was nothing in it - and I thought I had been so careful.

....I had to phone him up to warn him about pickpockets and tigers....

I wasn't; my son and his girlfriend have just gone there for the weekend [gulp ].....

I was almost hoping it was a real tiger! I bet a Parisian would be really tasty to a tiger. I feel quite sorry for the poor occasional man-eating Bengal tigers.

Even so - it must be a bit worrying for pet owners in the area.

I was actually going to say earlier on that I bet it's a lynx, especially as the ears are a bit big. Much mire likely.

Someone said it definitely had stripes so that is why they changed it to a tiger and was reported in a local Île de France paper. The area they are looking at is quite countrified and some distance from Paris itself - we visit the area quite a bit.

Update - they have tracked it a bit more and now they think it's not a tiger but another big cat

The woman who saw it originally thought it was a lynx - so not sure why they decided it was a tiger.

Oh the poor thing. It must be so frightened and confused. I hope those scary men with their guns don't shoot it. Very odd that no one`s admitted to mislaying a tiger.
