The Greens in their 2014 Spring Conference voted in a new and unique policy set that would save lives of all ages, but especially women born from 1953 and men born from 1951 who face NIL STATE PENSION FOR LIFE from the changes coming with the flat rate pension.

The Greens' 2015 manifesto pledges are:

- universal and automatic Citizen Income, non-withdrawable
to the level of the basic tax allowance
that replaces all the cruel benefits regime leaving people with no food money for months

- Full State Pension to all citizens, irregardless of National Insurance contribution / credit history.

The flat rate pension will leave many women and a lot of men without any state pension, that for so many is their sole food and fuel money in old age.

Just when women MPs keep their works pension at 60 (and men MPs at 65) and, also on the taxpayer, have an 11 per cent pay rise (about the same money as the denied state pension payout) in 2015.

The ring fenced and National Insurance Fund is full, not having needed a top up from tax for decades.

A Labour former deputy prime minister says that there is £30 billion left in the National Insurance Fund, being called a surplus, when this is the denied state pension payout, that is vital food and fuel money for so many of the over 50s / over 60s, who over half are within the working poor or disabled / chronic sick being denied benefit more and more.

Is this a real 38 Degrees petition - it looks different?

It is indeed a 38 Degrees petition that has been running quite a while.

The reasons of who will get nil state pension is fully stated in the petition and the section below it on who loses all state pension for life.

https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/state-pension-at-60-now

The cost of implementing the repeal of the Pension Bills 2010-2014 (latter that brought into law the flat rate pension 2016 for women born from 1953 and men born from 1951) is nil because the money is sitting unpaid out since last year in the National Insurance Fund and cannot be spent on anything else by law.

But not only are some to get nil state pension payout, but over 70 per cent of these new claimants will not get the flat rate pension amount because of all the small print that denies that amount. Again explained in the petition.

They haven't got rid of Home Responsibilities Protection, have they?

totally unrealistic demands
everyone seems to forget - there is the pension credit safety net.
cold weather payments are only for those on pension credit/ means tested benefits not your average pensioner
before the requirement was dropped to 30 years NI contributions it was 39 years (women) and 44 years (men) I know because I reached 60 in 2007 and STILL do not get a full basic pension because I only have 37 years hmm but thank goodness I had contributed to SERPs and have a small personal pension.
I do feel a bit miffed re the age related personal allowance as I pay around £400 in income tax per year but heyho - we win some and lose some.
I also fail to see why most people cannot manage 10 years NI contributions in their lifetime as those who are ill or unable to work get credits for those years. back in my day (pre 1979?) there was no home responsibility protection for SAHM.

It looks a bit weird to be honest, and unless I have had some kind of brain lapse, I really cant understand the details of why some people will get nil pension. Everyone will get something, if you dont/cant work you get NIC credits surely. I am no fan of this government but even they wouldnt leave a generation of pensioners with zero income. I am a fan of 38 degrees and hope that they have not been hijacked by someone peddling an untruth. Would like further clarification before I sign anything.
