gk Yes, it's sad news. Saw him give a fabulous concert in Cognac a few years back. Superb........and I've just been listening to that exact youtube link.

My memory is of when I was very ill and off school for weeks on end and friends came to visit me and gave me the record of JC's "You'll get by with a little help from your friends". I've never forgotten that all these years later tchsmile

He's one of the people I missed out on in my pop music education, being too busy in those days working and bringing up children to listen to music.
He seems to have been a good rock-type singer, but I can't see why he was so popular? There has been a lot about him on the media, and other forums that I read.

Listened to my compilation CD of downloads this afternoon while making brandy butter.

RIP Rolling Thunder.

Strange - that link takes me to my hotmail inbox !

Grannyknot Wed 24-Dec-14 07:20:38

And me! Maybe Phoenix was hacked and didn't post that?

TriciaF Wed 24-Dec-14 07:28:39

Grannyknot - do you mean your own hotmail inbox, or mine?

Grannyknot Wed 24-Dec-14 07:48:05

Sorry for confusion - it takes me to a hotmail log in (not inbox). I don't have a hotmail account.

Anne58 Wed 24-Dec-14 08:34:21
