I don't see a 'hate fest' on the contrary I see millions of people uniting against hate.

I am no fan of Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and put my hands up to finding her annoying at times. However I thought she wrote a good piece in the Daily Mail today 'It's tragic that so many of my fellow British Muslims are turning their backs on freedom'. I don't know how to put up a link.

She has wrote similar articles before on this subject and I whole heartedly agree with her article.

I don't think Jesus wanted me for a Sunbeam either.

When these terrible atrocities are committed we always seem to end up in a situation where people start competing with one another as to who hates who the most.

As you are a Christian jingle, I don't think Jesus would have taken the same stance as that venomous woman on Fox News. Sometimes Russell Brand's views might be considered muddled or simplistic but at least he isn't joining in with the current "hate fest".

Good sensitive post Rowantree, this reporter shouldnt have to resign, his stance was neither derogatory or accusing, he was doing his job and asking questions. Sadly, as your Father undoubtedly knows, there are many Israelis who interpret any questions or statements of facts about what is happening in Palestine as being anti -Semitic or being a holocaust denier. Surely, if Israel was represented in the march in Paris, demonstrating for a free press and freedom of speech, they should be able to answer questions about Palestine without taking grievous offence. It is ironic given the point of the march.
I too have relatives in US who follow Fox News, and if you ever read any of the illiterate badly spelt comments on Facebook it is terrifying; they are convinced Obama is really a secret Muslim ( what?) and is hell-bent on the destruction of the American way of life. I dont know whether to laugh or cry when i read it, a nation of immigrants telling France that it is their fault for 'letting in' immigrants, and telling Britain that if they armed us all, it would be fine. Terrifying.

Just watched R Brand. Brilliant! I agree with everything he said. The woman on Fox News was very scary.

Brandt is ridiculous. I too would love to see IS bombed off the face of the earth. Trouble is, of course, innocent bystanders would also be bombed. I have every sympathy with how that presenter on Fox News feels.

Has Brandt got any sensible solutions? He is excellent at knocking other people.

I have always thought Russell Brand talks a lot of sense. He just gets carried away and needs to tone it down a bit.

So pleased that the cartoon published today by CE is reaching out to the Muslim community. Just as in the Christian tradition - Jesus said "Father forgive them", so Mohammed is reaching out to say "Forgive them" and by implication "Not in my name".

Don't forget that this idea of no image is not an old tradition in the Muslim faith. Many Muslims are not offended by this image or any other of their prophet.

rubylady, his hair and tatooes don't bother or frighten me at all- and I'd like him to stay as he is. BUT... as so many people are prejudiced about appearance, I'd love him to cut his hair, put a suit and tie on- stop gesticulating, and then say what he is already saying- and see what happens. He shouldn't have to- but it would be interesting to see the reaction.

Just returning to the journalist saying that Palestinians suffer at the hands of Israelis...I too am the daughter of a Holocaust survivor and I believe the journalist was quite correct to point out what he did. He did nothing wrong and I don't believe he was insensitive.
Jews don't have the monopoly on persecution, by any means.
For the record, my father, at 88, is a very active member of Jews for Justice for Palestinians.

I don't know what anyone else feels but I'd be prepared to bet everything I own that bullets hurt a lot more than offended feelings.

8.94M followers on Twitter can't all be wrong. I've loved him when he was more comedian than political activist. He is fascinating to listen to and totally right in what he is saying here.

Also love his hair, tattoos and his manner. Watch this space with him, I reckon things are going to change in the next few years.
