Can the evil b-----s be stopped from their depravity.

The Jordanian Pilot has been reportedly 'burnt alive' by ISIS. It is said there is video footage.

Are they thinking up ways to get more countries to retaliate to justify and recruit in their mad dog minds? We know they are murderous barbarians so maybe they are just enjoying their barbarity, who knows.

They are sick.

The Elegran link is excellent.
I will have have a look at Robert Fisk and Caliphate.

loopylou Tue 03-Feb-15 22:02:05

It seems to me that they are funded by, armed and recruit from a number of countries/organisations so no single source or hub to focus on?
If GB, USA etc have had willing recruits join them then ISIS could have some form of 'prescence' in virtually every country......?
This is me surmising, with very limited knowledge.

soon, read the quality press commentators on the Middle East. In my opinion, Robert Fisk of the Independent is the best in his field. I suggest that you Google such words as 'Caliphate' which is what these fanatics seek to establish with a view to eventual world domination.

Thank you Elegran too. I appreciate it. And Penstemmon.
I had googled wikipedia previously but couldnt understand that. I shall be braver and read some newspapers online about it. I think I thought that the problem would go away soon, but it doesnt look like it is going to so I am going to have to personally dig deep.

soontobe Tue 03-Feb-15 21:53:22

Thank you jingl.

It is one of those things where I even find the first few lines complicated.

"The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria".
I dont even understand what that means.

Never mind. I think it is one of those things which I will never really grasp.

I suppose my main question is
is ISIS rooted anywhere so they can be bombed in some way.
Horrid thing to write, but it is what I think needs to happen somehow.

Penstemmon Tue 03-Feb-15 21:50:00

If you use a range of media websites and read articles on line that might be a way to start; The Times, The Independent, The Guardian,The Express plus Al Jezeera or other international but established papers would begin to show you the complexity of these groups.

I know that nowadays there are a growing number of 'independent' Christian churches started by groups breaking away from the main church because of minor differences in doctrine/style of worship etc.

I suspect this happens in states of civil unrest and that is how you get growing numbers of 'independent' but similar armies/factions.

Elegran Tue 03-Feb-15 21:49:15

Crossed posts, Jings

Elegran Tue 03-Feb-15 21:48:35

Try googling for yourself, sootobe I have just tried it and the first few on the page, at least, don't have any graphic pictures, just facts. This was at the top of the page -

qz.com/248787/a-short-political-history-of-the-barbaric-terrorists-who-call-themselves-the-islamic-state/

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 03-Feb-15 21:45:41

this seems a good explanatory article soon

loopylou Tue 03-Feb-15 21:42:53

So unbelievably sick it reduced me to tears..... Just when the hell is the civilised world going to DO something?
The depth of depravity it seems they're prepared to sink to is beyond comprehension.
So utterly sad and sickening.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 03-Feb-15 21:40:48

I read it has got to do with the fact that there was no after-plan for Iraq. It left an opening for the worst of the evil people out there. I don't think it was anything to do with Syria.

soontobe Tue 03-Feb-15 21:39:35

Without finding and seeing gruesome detail.

soontobe Tue 03-Feb-15 21:39:02

That is the sort of thing I want to know too jingl.

soontobe Tue 03-Feb-15 21:38:26

And that is exactly what I was asking about!
Where is a good place to look?

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 03-Feb-15 21:38:08

I'm not sure where IS came from. They seemed to appear so suddenly. Are they separate from the Taliban?

Riverwalk Tue 03-Feb-15 21:36:36

soon you say you'd like to read up about them but you are afraid to google ..... there are other avenues of research.

soontobe Tue 03-Feb-15 21:32:23

I presume you realise Riverwalk that there are literally millions of people walking around Britain who know virtually nothing about a whole range of current issues. And that cuts across the whole spectrum of society.

soontobe Tue 03-Feb-15 21:29:48

As I say, I am afraid to google about this.
I am allowed to be as innocent as I like.
I sure as heck do not want to see a whole load of graphic stuff. I cant see how that is going to help my life or anyone elses'.

POGS Tue 03-Feb-15 21:22:31

soon.

Better than making it up.

Riverwalk Tue 03-Feb-15 20:53:24

Oh, come on soon do you really know nothing about anything?

You ask a lot of innocent questions! Why not find out for yourself.

soontobe Tue 03-Feb-15 20:42:28

I would like to read up a bit more about them. I am afraid to randomly google as I dont know what will pop up.
Where is a good place to learn a bit about where or how they started for example?

Penstemmon Tue 03-Feb-15 20:38:58

It is sad, shocking and makes me feel very angry.

I suspect many of the 'rebel' fighters of ISIS and other extreme factions are a mix of thugs who have latched on to a 'cause' to feel they belong, religious bigots, power hungry/ crazed 'faux' religious men and others who have been coerced into joining up lead by a few well hidden shrewd people keen to gain control of land and resources for their own ends like feudal barons. They all need to be got rid of.

Soutra Tue 03-Feb-15 19:59:39

I don't know why I have started this post as I just don't have the words. Just so sad

POGS Tue 03-Feb-15 19:55:50

I don't think they are anything to do with the Free Syria Army are they??? They have defectors from the Syrian Army at the helm.

They probably detest them as much as you and I. What proof is there they have any connection?

I don't know so I would be interested in facts.

TerriBull Tue 03-Feb-15 18:43:06

No I hadn't forgotten that Riverwalk, this government wanted to arm the rebels although they didn't seem to know who they were or anything about their aims.
