Policies not parties

When I did one of these, or something similar I came out as 25% for 4 parties.
But finances have to be involved. Priorities given. And a whole party has to be voted for.
Doing it this way, does not really take these things into account.

Was talking to a friend from South Africa during our hols this week- and she said that democracy just does not work in tribal society. It made me think- how different is it really from the UK, or other 'democratic countries' (many outside the UK would argue that the UK voting system is not democratic at all actually- due to the 'first past the post system' which means the vast majority of votes do NOT count at all! btw)- where perhaps a minority vote after seriously attempting to understand the issues? Perhaps the majortiy still vote according to their family, friends and community- which is a from of tribalism! I used to live in a constituency that was not representative of my 'views'- I always voted on principle- knowing full well my vote would go straight in the bin and not count at all!!! How motivating is that?

Och! I was really hopeful that this would help me clarify my thoughts as I'm so uncertain -unfortunately I got 25% for each of the 4 parties included! Can't believe it. I suppose that says something about the policies and maybe the outcome (if everyone votes the same as me which I'm sure they wont!) Coalition in sight?

Increasingly Green, but I didn't get enough questions across the board to reflect my socialist leanings, as some were bundled in with other policies that I didn't necessarily want. However, it does show how politics is shifting in my locality. Thanks, ga
