Quite rightly he's being suspended but should the BBC be cancelling episodes of Top Gear?

If a man working in a factory punches a colleague he would probably be sacked but I doubt they'd remove the product he was making from the shelves.

durhamjen Wed 11-Mar-15 23:10:41

I do not understand, phoenix. Why isn't a petition asking for him to be sacked not what you want?

Anyway, anyone can start a petition on change.org using any wording they want.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Mar-15 22:46:26

Yep! The Oxfordshire set. hmm The PM's got a point though.

Our licence fee would probably go up without Top Gear bringing in the dosh.

Anya Wed 11-Mar-15 22:43:49

The old boy network at work angry

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Mar-15 22:42:51

Oh leave off you lot! grin It's just a telly programme. It gives pleasure to millions. It harms no one. Jeremy Clarkson is a 'personality'. He's good on the programme. You don't have to mix with him in real life!

Anne58 Wed 11-Mar-15 22:39:08

There seems to be a lot of anti comments on change.org (where I think the campaign to keep the obnoxious man started) but I am a loss as to how to start a petition to keep the egotistical, self satisfied, opinionated oik away and out of an obscenely high pay job where he seems to be rewarded for being all those things that I said about him!

(I could say a lot more, and in more colourful language, but I would probably be banned!)

Ana Wed 11-Mar-15 22:39:03

Somehow I don't think it's going to make nearly half a million any time soon. Which is sad.

durhamjen Wed 11-Mar-15 22:37:28

I agree, Ana. Can anyone share it on facebook, to get more signatures?

durhamjen Wed 11-Mar-15 22:34:03

On the news, phoenix.

The link to change.org should work now I've said I'm not me.
Or it just did for me, so maybe it is just you.

merlotgran Wed 11-Mar-15 22:33:59

It was an item on the BBC 10 o'clock news, phoenix.

He said he hoped it would soon be sorted out because his kids love Top Gear. hmm

Ana Wed 11-Mar-15 22:33:30

Only 176 supporters so far durhamjen - it's a pity a counter-petition wasn't started as soon as the 'reinstate JC' one was launched.

Anne58 Wed 11-Mar-15 22:29:23

The links provided didn't seem to work if you just wanted to sign them, but it may of course be me! grin

merlot where is Cameron showing support for the inflated ego arsehole Jeremy Clarkson comment? Please tell then I can (hopefully) add a comment!

gillybob Wed 11-Mar-15 22:28:57

The man is vile. Just like his BBC "friend" Jonathan Woss. I notice he has been welcomed back into the fold. Horrible people.

Ana Wed 11-Mar-15 22:28:14

Both members of the Chipping Norton set (along with many others!)

durhamjen Wed 11-Mar-15 22:26:49

This is a current one on change.org, which is where the one to reinstate him was begun.

The others seem to be older ones, years ago.

KatyK Wed 11-Mar-15 22:13:56

They are friends apparently.

merlotgran Wed 11-Mar-15 22:12:02

Surely a PM should stay out of something like this?

merlotgran Wed 11-Mar-15 22:11:32

What the heck is David Cameron doing showing support for Clarkson on TV?

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Mar-15 21:25:04

I think that was quite funny. He was referring to Hammond.

KatyK Wed 11-Mar-15 21:14:17

He also said after Michael Schumaker's accident that the trouble with head injuries is that when you recover you can come back as a midget with a marked Brummie accent. He thinks he's very funny. He's wrong.

absentgrandma Wed 11-Mar-15 21:03:04

Not just Clarkson's crass remak about BSE Phoenix, he outdid himself when he complained that suicides on Network Rail really peed him off because they held his train up. The man is a complete bore.

Top Gear has moved from being a mildly interesting programme for petrolheads to a ludicrous display of 'Who can smash a car up more completely... Hammond, May or the Idiot Clarkson?' I don't know what blows a bigger hole in the ozone.... the emissions from their cars as they roar all over the planet in childish races, or the load of tosh that Clarkson emits from his gobangry

pompa Wed 11-Mar-15 21:01:06

I believe so, I have just signed them.

Ana Wed 11-Mar-15 20:49:39

Are these current petitions pompa? I saw quite a few old ones (last year) when I googled. We don't want to squander our votes! grin

pompa Wed 11-Mar-15 20:36:12

And another

Here is the petition you requested

KatyK Wed 11-Mar-15 20:33:57

I believe that someone tried to start one on the Gov. Epetitions thing but it was rejected for some reason.
