Sixteen German children, all from the same school, on an exchange visit are among the victims. sad

The title of this thread is apt - it is very sad to see a slanging match going on between ''grown-ups'' alongside the discussion of such a great tragedy.
If nothing else this horrific event has taught us this:
'Today is all we have'
For goodness sake make the most of it and stop trying to shout the loudest about something we can only speculate about until all the facts are established.

but I replied before ab's was deleted. It now looks as though I have said something untoward. angry

I am sick of this bloody website.

Why on earth has my post complaining about remarks made about my being under the influence of drink and drugs, been deleted? Why? shock
Surely I've a right to defend myself against such low insults?

This is getting too much.

It's not really a good idea to remove personal attacks, but to leave posts which contain snippets of the removed post to stay, hence why it was removed.

We won't always remove them, it depends on which part of the post was copied.

Ana Sun 29-Mar-15 17:34:23

Presumably because it was in reply to absentgrandma's now-deleted post. I know GNHQ don't always delete replies but sometimes they do.

Five minutes is enough.Everything relevant has been said by then, any more is just repetition and rant.

Anniebach Sun 29-Mar-15 16:56:21

Nelliemoser, I meant the press described that mob who tried to attack the van as distressed and the children evil, for me what is more wicked than a crowd of adults behaving like a pack of wolves and to two small children .
the mob were not condemned by the press

The press are so quick to reach their own verdict

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 29-Mar-15 16:41:09

That hmm there was in relation to the self-righteous post. Not Julie's post.

whitewave Sun 29-Mar-15 16:38:59

whatever you like really - depends on what sort of workout you like I suppose. I am useless as I tend to take it all too personally.

Elegran Sun 29-Mar-15 16:37:09

Is that the five minute argument or the half-hour argument?

whitewave Sun 29-Mar-15 16:28:15

POGS you could always start a thread entitled - lets have an argument grin

POGS Sun 29-Mar-15 16:19:18

I don't think there has been anything other than respect for those who have lost their life or their families.

This always happens to interesting threads [sigh]

JulieGransnet (GNHQ) Sun 29-Mar-15 16:15:16

Oh, that's OK smile

whitewave Sun 29-Mar-15 16:01:18

Sorry Julie - I posted before I read what you had written.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 29-Mar-15 15:57:51

hmm

whitewave Sun 29-Mar-15 15:53:08

This is so sad really. 150 plus people have lost their lives - the reason for which none of us is entirely clear.

Relatives are in bits, and suffering untold misery. Let us hope none of them read what is going on, on this thread.

Reason to be ashamed.

JulieGransnet (GNHQ) Sun 29-Mar-15 15:52:50

Back to the topic...

Any loss of life is tragic, even much so when it happens under such circumstances. I'm sure our thoughts are with the families.

merlotgran Sun 29-Mar-15 15:42:28

Yes, it was a cheap shot.

Maybe I should change my name to Perriergran hmm

Less swearing on here than telly after the watershed.

This is an Internet forum for adults not a PG film show. We don't need protecting from the odd expletive. If it offends sensibilities then tough.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 29-Mar-15 15:27:10

I mean if you want to have a go at me. This isn't the place.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 29-Mar-15 15:25:36

Start a new thread.

granjura Sun 29-Mar-15 15:20:23

Merlot, being grown up is one thing- but I don't think that anyone here should have to take personal insults and attacks and swearing, 'f'ing nd blinding. It's not acceptable in real life, and shouldn't be acceptable here either.

rosequartz Sun 29-Mar-15 15:15:32

A good post, POGS and written with understanding from the heart.

soon we have our flights booked already and have a family member whose job is a pilot. This terrible incident just brings it home to us how vulnerable we are.
