Potty people make me smile smile

Even without the dash 'Celebrating large weight' doesn't make sense. Large size, maybe...

Elegran Wed 22-Apr-15 16:38:18

The dashes in the middle of the items mean that they never do make sense anyway. No-one ever says "Which plays - have you loved or hated?" Without the dashes they would be normal sentences without pregnant pauses.

merlotgran Wed 22-Apr-15 16:37:32

Well, I did say....in 14:21

Soutra Wed 22-Apr-15 16:36:05

Never look over there, but now I see " St "Marysdington" duh!

Soutra Wed 22-Apr-15 16:34:57

Right , how was I meant to know???

merlotgran Wed 22-Apr-15 16:34:44

When the active list is showing.

merlotgran Wed 22-Apr-15 16:33:41

We're looking at 'discussion of the day' on the right hand side of the page, Soutra

Soutra Wed 22-Apr-15 16:32:16

confused??

Ana Wed 22-Apr-15 16:29:31

'Celebrating - large weight?' doesn't make much sense either!
Who thinks up these daft phrases...? hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 22-Apr-15 16:24:51

Oh! I've been wondering what that meant.

Soutra Wed 22-Apr-15 16:06:30

grin Elegran. -perish the thought!

Faraway43 Wed 22-Apr-15 16:00:39

Poor Kate seeing all those people outside the hospital waiting for her to perform

merlotgran Wed 22-Apr-15 14:21:58

I've just looked at 'discussions of the day'

Poor St. Mary's lost her Pad. grin

When Pope John Paul II came to Manchester at Heaton Park in 1982, my mother decided in the middle of the night to get my dad to put a flask up and she persuaded me to go with her to see him. Off we went on an especially put on coach for the event and ended up in a field, I was 18 years old at the time. She sat chatting to a guy all night while I tried to sleep. We did get a glimpse at the Pope but I do not, even now, know why. We are not even catholic!!!!??? confused

A lovely memory though and great atmosphere.

On the subject of planetary stuff, what is that huge star next to the moon; it's massive!

Elegran Wed 22-Apr-15 12:59:00

Maybe the people who are waiting for this to happen think that it is dippy to get excited about watching an eclipse, or to sit up all night to get the election results as they come in?

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 22-Apr-15 12:53:41

People in these queues are always very understanding about having to leave for a loo visit.

loopylou Wed 22-Apr-15 12:23:41

Delightfully dippy individuals IMO, but it's harmless and clearly they enjoy doing it. Definitely not something I'd do though!

Jane10 Wed 22-Apr-15 12:21:50

Its harmless and its nice to see a gathering to celebrate a joyful occasion rather than to protest about something which is the usual reason. Good luck to them. I bet the atmosphere will be great. I'd be for staying at home myself though!

Anniebach Wed 22-Apr-15 12:16:54

I think it's rather silly but it makes them happy , heaven knows why though

nonnanna Wed 22-Apr-15 12:08:14

Presumably it's to do with soaking up the atmosphere and/or getting seen on TV. Personally I'd sooner stay at home, knowing where the loo is Tegan
and maybe catch the event on the news if I happen to have the radio on or walk past the telly at the appropriate time. Definitely eccentric.

Eloethan Wed 22-Apr-15 10:56:10

I think it's sad when people spend so much time and effort on a family that they don't know and who doesn't know them.

GrannyTwice Wed 22-Apr-15 10:29:25

Gillybob is suspiciously absent on this thread - has anyone seen her on TV in the queue ?

rosequartz Wed 22-Apr-15 10:20:25

You could lose your place at the front couldn't you hmm

Tegan Wed 22-Apr-15 10:05:40

It almost smacks of history when the queen had to have lots of people around just in case they sneaked in another [non royal] baby! [err. what do these people do for a loo or are there lots of public lavvys nearby; apologies for lowering the tone but knowing where the loos are are always high priority with me blush]...
