A very long Queen's Speech, but I'd rather have this one than the one we are going to get.

However, at least repeal of the Human Rights Act should not be heard today.

I'm pretty well apolitical but I do think this is an excellent idea. Will you be pernamently available HOC or is this just a one off?

I would be interested primarily in Day 3 - Health and Social Care;then Day 4 - Britain in the World, in which i assume the subject of Europe will be broached. In fact, they all interest me, but don't think I can face sitting in front of the TV all week.

Hi annodomini

With our new Parliament TV system we are able to provide you with links directly to that debate topic so that you won't have to spend the day in front of the TV.

Keep an eye on this thread as well and we'll be posting links to things that we think may be helpful or of interest to you.

Hi Gracesgran,

We don't think you are a geek!

You can keep to date with what is coming up on the Parliamentary calendar.

I can't say whether they have a much bigger role now than in the past but I'll let the committees speak for themselves in the following videos.

Hi Galen,

We're hoping to be here from now on - if you'll have us smile

If there are topics of interest to you in the forthcoming Parliament let us know and we can help shed light on it. If we have missed a conversation that you think we should be a part of - give us a shout and we'll join in.

Haven’t yet seen the State Opening of Parliament 2015 and the Queen’s Speech or just want to re-watch? Catch up with UK Parliament’s YouTube video.

annodomini Wed 27-May-15 17:17:12

Impressive technology, HoC. Thanks.

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 17:55:45

GNHQ - I think putting the HofC on a thread entitled Queens Speech is a tad misleading. Cant they have their own thread that people can go on and ask questions of them because obviously they can't debate or discuss anything - they are just information givers which is clearly helpful for some but is nothing to do with discussing the content of the Queens Speech

Ana Wed 27-May-15 17:57:24

Yes, I think it was a mistake to use this thread.

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 18:03:43

Have started a real Queens Speech thread

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 18:04:58

I can't help but harbour a sneaking suspicion that HQ were out to stop us having a bunfight really good debate

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 18:08:37

Bloody hell - have you seen what HQ have said on my Queens speech thread?

Meercat Wed 27-May-15 18:13:45

Where is it Grannytwice? I can't find it.

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 18:14:07

Silly silly me - there's a thread entitled Queens Speech which seems to be nothing to do with the Queens Speech. What the hell is going on - I tried to start a new thread about the content - yes the CONTENT of the Speech ( yes I know, I know, how silly was that) and it is now going to be deleted. Can someone tell me how those of us who want to can discuss this speech?

soontobe Wed 27-May-15 18:17:22

Have we been taken over? shock
Another thread was started today in site stuff by elena, saying that in the Discussion of the Day box, if you press the Difficult -in-laws button, it comes up as something else[I havent bothered to press it to find out what].

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 18:18:29

They deleted it ! shock and confused. Anyway, I've been thinking - don't tell HQ but I'm going to start an undercover thread called Knit your own fluffy kitten. Anyone who wants to can sneak off their and discuss the Queens Speech how to knit your own fluffy kitten

soontobe Wed 27-May-15 18:18:36

I am not at all sure that everything is as it seems.

Meercat Wed 27-May-15 18:21:10

I did find it and post Granny twice. Have they taken it down now. That's not right. shock

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 18:23:17

Arts and Crafts board might be worth a look until HQ find two neutral experts in knitting to answer our questions

Ana Wed 27-May-15 18:24:57

If we start a thread about each point raised in the QS they can't object, surely?

loopylou Wed 27-May-15 18:28:50

Surely if you really want answers and not a bunfight argument GT then you will get the answers, fron a non-partial source, here?
Why start yet another thread on the same subject!

Good on GNHQ!

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 18:31:07

well we could but I think it would be very funny ( I'm easily amused) to use the Arts and Crafts board for this - so fluffy kitten = discussion of free child care. Then if you wanted to start one on the tax threshold, that could be, ohI don't know, glass blowing for beginners

loopylou Wed 27-May-15 18:32:53

Really?

GrannyTwice Wed 27-May-15 18:34:03

Loopy the posts on this thread were nothing to do with the Queens Speech in any meaningful sense. So I started a new thread and HQ deleted it . Why can't we have a debate about the QS on another thread and leave this one to information giving? Some of us want to debate the issues
