I know voting is a private thing, but im wondering if anybody on this site voted for Cameron in May. ?...

And if so, did those who voted for Cameron realise that both he and Osborne are continuing what Thatcher started over 30 years ago, that of rolling back the State and getting rid of all the social improvements brought in by a Socialist Labour Government after WW2.....This is an ideological agenda of the Tory's. They despise the State and everything attached to it.

The vicar's not going to like this!

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 19:41:08

Don't tell him, Pike! wink

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 19:39:42

Or a wolf in sheep's clothing?

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 19:39:39

x posts, sorry Anya

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 19:38:04

Well, of course now Anya has admitted she agrees with a Guardian article dj, I expect that's proof enough for you that she's back in the fold.

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 19:38:02

Ah ha! You read my link too DJ

(even more warm and fuzzy feelings)

durhamjen Sat 29-Aug-15 19:29:06

Are you going to vote for JC, Anya?

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 19:13:36

Yes. And even more amazing that they're brought up in a totally inappropriate context! confused

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 19:00:48

That'll be it Ana (and Terribull) she's referring to the fact that I once stood as a candidate in WLDC elections.

Mystery solved!

Amazing how some things lodge in the mind.

grin
But you have a point.

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 18:05:43

When you think about it, those on the left should be grateful to the British public for voting the Tories in.

If the country was being run by Ed Miliband I suppose they'd have had to put a brave face on it, but as it is they have a new hero in JC and hope has been reignited in their communal breast! smile

I also think the heading was aggressive and very personal do we honestly think that if another "party" had been elected that things would have improved in such a short space of time I think not somehow.

whitewave Sat 29-Aug-15 17:33:21

Let it go over your head. Makes no difference, whether you did or didn't. Nobody's business but your own.

kittylester Sat 29-Aug-15 17:29:57

regardless of anything else, I think the 'heading' is really aggressive and accusatory (see what I did there!!)

soontobe Sat 29-Aug-15 17:27:19

Thought I was right!

I thought that the opening post was actually quite interesting, but if others have discussed the subject ad infinitum, then it isnt likely to go far.

Am I right in thinking that if a poster has had a previous name, it is not supposed to be definitely outed?

I would have thought that if posters want to endlessly talk about flowers and that is ok, then so is politics.

Personally I think that this poster is a man, but could be wrong.

I dont think that this poster is a wind up merchant. But plimsoll person seems to be allowed to post a lot about plimsolls, so this poster can about politics, and politics only.
It then becomes up to us whether we respond or not.

I think that if posters think that another poster is breaking guidelines or rules or whatever they are called, then gransnet want it reported.

I suspect that this poster is not breaking rules.

<disclaimer. Most of this could be wrong as others know gransnet better than I do>

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 17:15:59

'once stood' not 'was once...'

FarNorth Sat 29-Aug-15 17:15:31

Third person plural?

Ana Sat 29-Aug-15 17:15:27

I took it that dj meant Anya was once stood for election, likening her to Ivanhoe for some strange reason...hmm

Alea Sat 29-Aug-15 17:12:38

DJ when you say " so you are the same person"
Who is the same person please, and which person? confused

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 16:10:16

Perhaps she's getting Anya, Ana and Alea muddled up hmm

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 16:09:37

Alea missed out the 'glad'

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 16:09:03

Terribul I'm not sure what DJ meant either as I hadn't posted (had I??? confused ) on this at that point.

Anya Sat 29-Aug-15 16:03:06

Alea you spelled that out for FarNorth

I was beginning to think 'gullible' had been removed from the English dictionary
