I dont get it.

Would they do self defence or not?
Would they defend a neighbour or not?
Would they defend somone at the end of their street that they did not know very well, or not?
Would they defend someone who they didnt know who lived in the next town, who they came across that needed defending?

Or is it a case of, they are not happy about it, but would do it if they had to?

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 11:55:59

An expired visa is not punishable by death

gillybob Fri 20-Nov-15 11:57:40

Of course it isn't Anniebach and I am not aware of anyone who has even suggested as much.

POGS Fri 20-Nov-15 12:03:56

Yes it was a tragedy but it always so easy to adopt the hindsight blame game .

What if he had been a terrorist wearing a suicide vest? What if, what if.

It's all very well to know the facts afterwards which afford you the luxury of knowing the truth but it does not take into account the split second decisions our police/security/government has to take/make on a daily basis.

They did get it wrong but they did not do it intentially, out of malice and not because they are trigger happy. They got it wrong on the day because they believed there was a potential terrorist threat and the focus had to be to stop any loss of life that may have resulted. The police had to make a call that probably none of us would want to do but that is the challenge every day and they made the call to shoot because he was evading arrest and that alongside the the potential for a terror attack what were they suppose to do.

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 12:12:23

So a shoot to kill policy would mean more innocent people being gunned down

Elegran Fri 20-Nov-15 12:14:12

It was the reason that it happened, no-one is saying that it excuses it.

On the same logic, the reason that IS is targeting French gatherings and passersby could be said to be past actions by France, but that does not excuse their terrorist attcks.

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 12:15:47

Apologies, I made an error, he was not here illegally , he was believed to be a terrorist who was being hunted for because Jean Charles had magnolian eyes

Ana Fri 20-Nov-15 12:20:50

Oh, the sarcasm...hmm

rosesarered Fri 20-Nov-15 12:23:20

Oh the typo's! grin Magnolia?

rosesarered Fri 20-Nov-15 12:26:22

For heavens sake anniebach it was a mistake, an awful mistake compounded by different things, especially as the man ran away .

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 12:30:30

I would be grateful if my typing errors could be ignored, I make rather a lot and have always apologised when brought to my attention , even when I am mocked.

I leave the choice with those who keep mocking, either ignore or ask me to leave the forum , A smiley added to the mocking doesn't work , mocking is mocking

POGS Fri 20-Nov-15 12:31:00

Anniebach

You did your view no favours in that post.

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 12:33:09

POGS, I want no favours , I was honest

Ana Fri 20-Nov-15 12:35:02

Sarcastic comments are not 'honest' IMO.

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 12:39:46

And constantly mocking people's spelling errors with an added smiley is honest?

thatbags Fri 20-Nov-15 12:40:01

ab, instead of asking people to ignore your typos, perhaps you could ignore amusement at typos (it was amusement, not mockery). Or you could just grow a sense of humour. Calm down.

thatbags Fri 20-Nov-15 12:41:13

We all make yping errors and sometimes our 'devices' do it for us. Chill, dudes, chill.

thatbags Fri 20-Nov-15 12:41:34

"yping"

I rest my case.

rosesarered Fri 20-Nov-15 12:42:26

anniebach I have no idea what word you intended to type, what was it?

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 12:42:43

I am quite calm thatbags

thatbags Fri 20-Nov-15 12:43:29

Ha! seems iPing. actually a thing! grin

POGS Fri 20-Nov-15 12:46:00

Anniebach

You won't get any favours either.

If you honestly feel you have spoken in all truth as you state and feel his death was down to his 'Mongolian eyes' you are not implying racism you are stating his race was the cause. That is your privilege to say so .

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 12:54:42

POGS, I thought you were replying to a different post , so sorry.

I quoted what was said at the IPCC investigation - they later stated they were satisfied they had the right man noting he had Mongolian eyes

Elegran Fri 20-Nov-15 13:22:07

thatbags, I am now wondering to what activity that definition of iPing refers. The mind boggles at just what could be defined by those parameters!

Anniebach Fri 20-Nov-15 13:41:13

Think my errors will soon be reduced, my daughter just informed me I can have a Keyboard to use with the iPad , I didn't know this - duh

durhamjen Fri 20-Nov-15 13:42:27

Trump has an idea to make sure the wrong people are not targeted - to make all Muslims wear ID.
Now where has that happened before?
