So those of us in the No vote poll on GN,May be having knock on the door anytime now ...

POGS Wed 02-Dec-15 23:53:17

Stating the proverbial bleeding obvious there Durhamjen , abusing them didn't work so I guess a conspiracy theory is all that's left.

durhamjen Wed 02-Dec-15 23:45:26

I don't think she's the first one to suggest it, and she will not be the last.

POGS Wed 02-Dec-15 23:41:27

For goodness sake Anniebach you are dragging the barrel if I have understood your post and are suggesting they voted just to get at Corbyn.

Ye gods .

Anniebach Wed 02-Dec-15 23:37:20

Well, seems the labour MP's who voted Tory either stood against Corbyn or had put their favoured candidate forward

Anniebach Wed 02-Dec-15 23:34:08

No rosequartz, oh well jailers here I come

rosequartz Wed 02-Dec-15 23:24:32

wish my niece hadn't telephoned me to ask what would cure thrush
Didn't you know that yogurt is a significant code word annie?

I havent read threads today.
I havent even read this thread properly.

I think it was wrong behaviour of DC to call the no vote people "terrorist sympathisers [no idea if he has apologised for this or not].

Luckygirl

One would think he made the comment from experience.

Ana Wed 02-Dec-15 22:31:08

Ah, yes, I get it now. Sorry Luckygirl I think my brain is rather tired...smile

durhamjen Wed 02-Dec-15 22:28:48

It's true, Ana. Cameron said he would not have a debate until he was sure of winning it. He's been saying that for a while.

I was thinking the person who did the most finger jabbing was Hilary Benn.

Ana Wed 02-Dec-15 22:26:21

there would not have been a debate at all if there had been a possibility of it not going through

Sorry, I don't understand that statement, Luckygirl.

Luckygirl Wed 02-Dec-15 22:22:53

Nobody is "finger-jabbing" - just expressing their huge doubts about the plan to take British bombing into Syria. We all know which way the vote will go - there would not have been a debate at all if there had been a possibility of it not going through - that does not stop people from having genuine doubts about whether this is the right thing to do. i do not think that it is.

durhamjen Wed 02-Dec-15 22:16:55

You seem to have a thing about Alan Johnson. Any reason for it?

Who's ditched their opinions? I do not understand.

POGS Wed 02-Dec-15 22:12:27

Well it's funny how quickly some can 'ditch' their opinions of people I guess. It was poor old Betty Boothroyd not so long ago wasn't it!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Alan Johnson's words though , perhaps there was nothing to argue about because he was right.

Ana Wed 02-Dec-15 22:10:00

Of course it will, but that won't stop the finger-jabbing on here!

rosesarered Wed 02-Dec-15 21:52:02

I fully expect that the vote will go the Governments way tonight.

durhamjen Wed 02-Dec-15 21:48:07

Both MPs I've had since then are voting against. I am relieved about that.

Ana Wed 02-Dec-15 21:32:28

I'm sure he's relieved about that...! tchgrin

durhamjen Wed 02-Dec-15 21:30:37

I am not as enamoured of Alan Johnson. He used to be my MP.

rosesarered Wed 02-Dec-15 21:11:51

I thought so too, and his remarks got a fair amount of hear hears!smile

POGS Wed 02-Dec-15 21:05:01

I do not believe Cameron was making a generilation he was at a private meeting and no doubt meant the few Labour members to which there are many quotes and plenty of reading to suggest he may have a point.

I like Alan Johnson's words in his speech today which had he not been a Labour Grandee and well respected,( at least he was) would have caused equal trouble.

" I find this decision as difficult as anyone to make, I wish I had the self-righteous certitude as our 'finger jabbing' representatives of our new and kinder type of politics who will no doubt soon be contacting those of us who support this motion tonight"

Well looking at another thread he knew exactly what was coming.

Anya Wed 02-Dec-15 20:31:28

'It was just a joke' famous get out from another JC!!!

Ana Wed 02-Dec-15 20:22:11

Not funny, durhamjen. If you don't realise that, it's very sad...

durhamjen Wed 02-Dec-15 20:19:11

Sorry, are you not a she, Cherrytree? All that pink blossom?

Humour bypass, Ana. Light hearted? The others are the heavy threads.

Ana Wed 02-Dec-15 20:16:25

^I think as she voted for him, she deserves everything she gets.
I didn't so I do not deserve to be called it!^

What an unpleasant comment. You should be ashamed, dj, but of course you won't be.
