Here is a list of the 32 London Boroughs.
I/we know or have lived/have DDs or other family members/friends living in or visit regularly for entertainment, medical or other reasons , I would say about 20 of them.

I imagine other members can add to that.
Common sense, is precisely what it says on the tin, add in a bit of personal or life experience, travel or study and most people are able to achieve a well rounded view of the situation
Oh and we have a cousin's son who is an Assistant Chief Commissioner in the Met, so probably an opinion from the horse's mouth too.

soontobe - am I right in remembering you live in a rural part of the country? If so, I suspect you may be unnecessarily fearful that parts of our major cities are as Mr Trump and his new BF Katie describe them
About 15 years ago we rented a cottage on a farm in Cornwall. Lovely people, the farmers, but their concerns about our home in the north west were truly outlandish. They believed we, the white Brits, were outnumbered, surrounded by "Pakis" (forgive me, that's the word they used) These were not unpleasant folks, they were kind and generous but they had all lived in a rural idyll throughout their lives. I don't mean to be rude, but those of us who live in urban/city areas generally live peacefully with a mixed community.
Trump is a loathsome biggot and the same can be said of the truly dreadful Katie Hopkins. I was beginning to enjoy some of the DM's investigative journalism and hope to continue to do so, but giving that bigoted, unpleasant, confrontational and in truth downright nasty piece of work a job - shame on them.

Oh dear now I have a real dilemma. Trump for President? well I'd normally say "NO" but if he is, Katie will leave, now that seems to be highly desirable. I don't think her camera crew are messaging their families every hour to let them know they are safe, much more likely they are letting off steam, and grousing about having to work with a complete nutter!

So the Met doesn't know all areas on London,

Well actually soontobe even if you don't, between the rest of us we probably do, plus there is such a thing as common sense. Anniebach you and I do not always ( ) sing from the same hymn sheet, but that observation is spot on.

To be able to say that parts of London are not radicalised, we would have to know all areas and not just some.

Trump has made nonsensical allegations , I think GJ is a lot closer to the truth, but still (naively) believe the concept of a no-go area is bo**ocks.
She (Hopkins) is dangerous because there will be prats out there who give her the time of day and I yearn for the day when she and Trump set off on the next one way probe to Mars/Jupiter/the Lost Planet.

She actually said "parts" which is completely different saying "London is completely radicalised".

I bought some tickets for DH and I to see one of our favourite singers in July at the 02 in London. The concert was cancelled within hours of the tickets going on sale and the rumours are that the insurers of the top American artists are forcing cancellations as the terrorist risk is just too high.

As said, where I lived, those 'parts' of town where the police would hesitate to go alone and unarmed- are not the parts with a large 'ethnic' population, but practically all white estates full of violent EDL types, often drrunk and on drugs. The Asian parts of town are just not an issue at all.

It is very healthy indeed to despair of the media.

Particularly the newspapers, The Murdoch empire's Sky News. Fox news in the USA. "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."

AS the BBC is criticised for neing biased by bothe sides of the politic agenda are probably getting it about right.
I think of most national news media it seems to one considered by other countries as being relatively free from political bias and influence.
Think how gloriously our media ridicules our politicians.
