This big size difference is probably down to us having much more sophisticated measuring devices.

The land is still rising from the compression of the ice age but not at a a meter in 60 ys.

The Atlantic ocean is spreading at about an inch a year at present. Just here

It reminded me of that wonderful film set in Wales.
The village were told by Engllish surveyors that their beloved mountain was too short and was in fact a hill. So they all went up in the night with buckets of soil to increase the height. The man who went up a hill and came down a mountain I think it was called.

Beautiful but deadly mountain. Still two young climbers missing since February on the mountain somewhere.

I thought the sea was rising, if so the mountain should be shorter, perhaps I am mistaken about rising seas levels

I believe the height is measured from mean sea level. All OS heights are heights above mean sea level.

Doesn't the height vary depending on where they measure it from? Seems to me a bit of an inexact measuring system if the height keeps changing.
