The debate is picking up again, so perhaps the last week of debate should be taken from the Jo Cox threads and given its own thread.

If you shouted that at my front door you would get the door slammed in your face, why do you think you have the right to shout on GN ? you are not talking to toddlers.

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 12:55:08

Gosh harrigran that's a bit strong!

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 12:59:37

Far be it from me for ever call someone throwing a tantrum a "toddler"

The messages above were a bit of fun with a serious message thrown in.

Luckygirl Tue 21-Jun-16 13:11:40

Blimey whitewave - do you want to stay in the EU by any chance? grin

I am concerned that people should vote either way for the right reasons - i.e. they have done their best in this messy and unenlightening campaign to discern those facts that matter to them and will vote accordingly.

I have a fear that many might vote for atavistic tribal reasons, or because they want to give Cameron or Farage a bloody nose. No-one can stop people voting on these grounds, but it is hardly democracy at work.

This referendum should never have been called - neither side will have a true mandate as they are so close. It is very unlikely that the vote will be truly decisive one way or the other. What is the use of that? I feel truly sickened by it all and I switch off the radio/TV now when it is being discussed.

I do think it is worth saying though that there will be people who vote OUT for sound reasons rather than being right-wing racists.

I'm on a roll lucky

David Beckham wants to REMAIN as he argues we are better working together. Victoria agrees.

Vote REMAIN and be proud to work with your European neighbours.

Luckygirl Tue 21-Jun-16 13:27:25

Well, if the Beckhams want to stay in then I am definitely voting out.

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 13:35:31

grin

daphnedill Tue 21-Jun-16 13:38:53

How fickle! wink

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 13:41:15

David Cameran says vote REMAIN because Brits don't quit.

Vote REMAIN because you are proud not to be a quitter.

nigglynellie Tue 21-Jun-16 13:46:47

Strange that it's always wealthy people who want to Remain, often, like the Beckhams they dont even live in this country!! Richard Branston tweeted from his home in the Virgin Islands exhorting us all to vote reamain! J.K Rowling too! Well if they all think that, it must be Ok! or not?!

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 13:50:37

Yes * niggly* that poverty stricken man Farage agrees with you.

daphnedill Tue 21-Jun-16 13:52:52

Anybody want to contribute to a whip round for Boris Johnson?

Charleygirl Tue 21-Jun-16 13:53:31

I will be so pleased when Thursday comes because I am heartily sick of it all. I am dreading Friday because whichever way the votes go no doubt somebody on GN will start all over again. I have had enough and am so pleased that I posted my vote 2 weeks ago.

daphnedill Tue 21-Jun-16 13:58:08

I thought J K Rowling lives in Scotland. Has Scotland already left the UK while I wasn't looking? I don't understand the envy of a woman who's made her own money.

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 13:59:11

I would advise you not to read the political threads charlie that way you can steer clear of what you dread and makes you sick

Tegan Tue 21-Jun-16 14:13:09

This reminds me of a shop in Cornwall that closed for the day when decimal currency was introduced, because they thought the next day they could just reopen and everything would be back to normal....#thisisjustthebeginning...

Elegran Tue 21-Jun-16 14:13:57

Irrelevant comment, DD. As Scotland is still in the UK, Scots too are voting on the referendum. Wherever J K Rowling lives, her view is as valid as anyone else's.

daphnedill Tue 21-Jun-16 14:15:58

That's what I meant. Apologies for the sarcasm.

Tegan Tue 21-Jun-16 14:18:55

It was in answer to nigglynellies post regarding JK's wealth...and Richard Bransons location [he did actually explain at the start that, although he lives in the Virgin Islands, he is still very concerned as to what happens to this country].

Tegan Tue 21-Jun-16 14:19:19

Crossed post...

whitewave Tue 21-Jun-16 14:35:34

Rio Ferdinand is voting to REMAIN because he hates the racism on the leave side.

Vote REMAIN and be proud you are on the same side as Ferdinand

grin
